opera, a company that ONLY does web browsers has been destroyed by a company that specializes in hardware (yes, apple claims to be a hardware company) guess I'll just switch to android. screw microsoft, opera and everyone else that only reacts to competition, instead of innovating when they can. in the same way that microsoft only released IE7 because of firefox, Opera will release mobile because of safari and android. terrible |

Mobile browsing is not that great. Pocket IE is still the most predictable browser. I have tried Opera Mobile, Opera Mini, and Picsel. None of them come close to a desktop browsing experience. Plugins such as Flash, etc. either don't exist, are outdated, or don't auto-install. RTSP protocol for streaming video like CNN.com doesn't work. Online Java games like Yahoo Games don't work. AJAX sites don't work. The way you fill in web forms on Opera Mini is that it opens a full screen text box that completely blocks the view of the site you are browsing.
I can't wait for something useful to come out. At least 25%+ of the sites I go to don't even work 100%. Last edited by Automaton; 12-11-2007 at 07:24 PM. |

From what Ive read on another website, WebKit (which is the company that developed mobile safari) is actually developing a web browser for windows mobile. Here's the link & demo:
