It was working this morning at 9am Pacific time. I just got outta class and I've been kicking myself in the ass wondering why it's not working. I get connected to the internet then it immediately says "logged out...(will retry)" and that keeps going til I exit the app. Sh***y deal! Hopefully it gets ironed out soon cuz life sucks without AIM on my Mogul!

There was an issue with our "octro.net" server which we have resolved. Everything should be back up. We are in the process of putting in more redundancy than we have currently to make sure everything stays up, and to avoid this type of service glitches.

Again, to second Malatesta, we haven't abandoned OctroTalk -- you will see improvements again on the WM5/6 platform very soon. Currently OctroTalk on WM5/6 is a stable, production quality app -- thus we haven't been tinkering with it much and have been focussing on Symbian S60.

Feature requests! I NEED these features in Octro... PLEASE!

1. Can you PLEASE add the custom status message text to the today plugin so it says something like "Online - Eating Lunch"? Would be so simple I think to implement, then we can remember what custom message we put up last easily from the today screen. (Would be double awesome if you could click the text and change the custom status message right on the today screen!)

2. Please add profile icon support! All my Gtalk buddies change their icons and custom status frequently and I want to see what they put on them when I'm mobile! Also, that would include support for MY custom profile icon.

Octro is a great product, I'll gladly pay for it, but PLEASE consider those two feature requests!

Before we talk about adding features, can we please correct the freezing issue?? lol...

I love Octro but I'm using Palringo simply because it is so much more stable and has yet to cause me to have to reboot my phone.. When I used to run Octro throughout the day I would have to soft reset upwards of 6 times... The only change I've made to correct that was to stop using Octro.

I'm once again having trouble with Octro. I'm getting the "connecting...logged out...(will retry)" messages again. Is this happening to anybody else?

Yea... it just started happening to me today. Been looking all over for a better client, but right now I can't find one (for the money). So I guess we just wait until they get their servers back up...

Thanks for your response lafor77. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem on my end. And as a matter of fact I'm in class right now posting from my 6800 and I just tried Octro and it's fully functioning. Thanks again!

Quick Question.. Is Octro still proxying the communications from your IM? My problem with octro last time I tried it was that when I logged onto my IM program at home, I suddenly had every contact duplicated with @<type>.octro.....
