MS Business Contact Manager

The times I've updated ROM on my Mogul, rebuilt using Sprite, my Business Contact Manager DB has been wiped clean. Then, of course, after restore and sync, Outlook thinks I've cleaned the contacts from the handheld so it does the same by wiping my business contacts clean as well. I reload the DB from w/in Outlook, the PC info now takes priority and syncs the contacts back to the Mogul. Anybody got any tricks to prevent this from happening again at the next ROM (yea, Rev A and GPS Q1 2008 ) update?
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
Looks to me like you're encountering a variation of the never-ending conflict between device backups and syncs. Apparently your Sprite backup is saving your sync partnership but not the BCM data (surprising, why?). I don't know if this is the best way, but one partial workaround is to delete the partnership in activesync before connecting your device - after the restore. This will save you having to rebuild the BCM data on the computer, but you'll still be completely reloading the device's data over AS with a new partnership. Of course in that case you wonder what's the point of backing up the synced data to begin with.
Personally I use Exchange and simply resync exchange data after a re-flash or hard-reset. (I will look into BCM again - I first tried it when it came out in 03/04; bagged it because at the time it didn't sync w/ PPCs - I guess this has changed.)
