That's strange, I've have not noticed anything like your 10-20 MB of free RAM loss with just the installation of any bing version to date. Are you sure it's not Sense that's eating up your RAM (program memory)?

Best to all,

Me either, which means it's probably some other factor. I haven't seen 10-20MB loss with anything. What's the big thing with everyone complaining about memory leaks on everything. Stop looking at your available RAM and you don't have a problem.

Re: Bing App updated (V. 5.1.2010.6280)

Is it just me or did the GPS sampling rate on version 6280 drop? I missed two turns already because it seems to only be updating the location every 10 seconds or so. On a freeway that's almost 1000 feet.

Any way to crank up the sampling rate so the position updates more frequently?

Re: Bing App updated (V. 5.1.2010.6280)

I never had this problem until Bing forced an update on my phone Friday. I didn't have a choice in the matter. It basiaclly told me that if I wanted to keep using Bing on my device I would have to update. It's a Sprint TP2 on WM6.1 In minutes I went from decent position updating to what it is now.

Re: Bing App updated (V. 5.1.2010.6280)

Don't know if anyone's reading this thread anymore but if you use the "Directions" function of Bing the map updates about once per second (same as old version) but if you just use the "Maps" function it updates once every 3-5 seconds. Don't know why they would do it this way!!!!

Re: Bing App updated (V. 5.1.2010.6280)

Of late I have been tying out Google Maps mobile version. It updates position every second no matter what you are doing. The map background, whether just a street map or satellite also updates alot quicker. The other thing that Bing has been a problem for me of late is that when I first launch it, it can easily take a minute or two, sometimes three, to get a fix, while Google does that much faster. Bing USED TO get a fix quite fast in the previous versions but since this last upgrade I find I hardly use it anymore 'cause it's so slow.

I wonder if its the areas were you guys are residing. I have clear sunny skies here where I live and don't have any of those problems with BING.

Re: Bing App updated (V. 5.1.2010.6280)

I just upgraded the phone to WM 6.5 yesterday. Google still running really well. Going to try Bing again to see if it runs any differently on WM 6.5 but haven't had the chance yet.
