Best/cheapest Gmail messenger?

I have done some searching but have not found a clear answer to this. I am looking to get one but do not want to pay to much or have to pay at all if I do not have to. Any suggestions?

like for Gmail messenger do you mean being able to access your Gmail account on the device? or are you wanting to access "Gtalk" From your mobile device?

I use Octrotalk as well. Works great, and you can sign into Gtalk, other jabber clients, AIM, MSN etc all at the same time.
