1magine,
I use my gmail to send text messages. I am on sprint. I just do the (areacode+phonenumber)= xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com

My wife is on sprint with her flip phone, and she can just reply.. so i guess the sprint text allows you to send text messages to e-mail. So now i don't pay for my text messages to her, but I do have to keep my gmail checking every 10 mins so that I get them fairly promplty. If i'm texting back and forth more than 1 every 10 mins, i just hit the send/receive.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the help guys.
all you sprint guys are so lucky. over here in canada our phone plans suck bigtime.
i can pay $10 extra bucks per month for 1000 SMS, but thats $10 i dont wanna pay.
none of my friends have a PPC so i can't really email to their phone.
i will call Bell Mobility later and ask if they can hook me up since i'm paying so much.

Honestly, not to get too far in your business. If you are playing $160 per month for service...what's an extra $5 for 300-500 text messages? Or just paying $0.15 per message? I apologize if I'm being rude in this statement.
49.99 for all that???? wow do i hate verizon, $45 extra for data, ahhhhhhhh

SMS for msn messenger

This is a discussion related to my question. Now, doesn't Windows Live Messenger (WLM) for regular PC have a SMS option? You can send a text message to someones phone then they can reply and it appears on your WLM chat window. I was hoping that this would be an feature in the WM6 version because I have a $7 unlimited browser plan and could just use WLM to SMS people. But I can't seem to get it working, there is no option to do this at all. Am I missing something, is anyone else missing this?
