Little help with Sprite Backup?

I had high hopes, admittedly, for Sprite Backup with my PPC6800. I've read great things and I had used a previous version with my Axim. So, I purchased the latest version and installed it on my XP Pro machine at home. It backed up the device just fine. However, I am unable to open the backup file within Sprite Explorer. It tells me "invalid password or corrupt backup file". I emailed Sprite support, and after a fairly quick "glossing over" of the issues (what OS; uninstall and reinstall), they had me send them a backup file. After they
were able to open the file without issue, their answer is "well, the problem is on your computer."

Has anyone experienced this, or should I just return the software and get my money back? I'm a little hesitant to support a piece of software that has seemingly non-existent support.

Don't know if it's the same problem or a different one. I've used Sprite BackUp for 2 years on my 6700. The first time I needed it to recover s backup file was when I upgraded the rom. It worked perfectly.

Last week, I had a corrupted file problem and tried to activate my latest backup file for a restore. The file would not recognize my password. It was done with the automatic backup option that I use weekly. None of the automatic files would open, although I could run a new backup successfully.

Sprite tech said the problem was that your password is overwritten automatically each time you run a backup. And it does not tell you that the new or mistyped password you used to run the backup file is the password you have to use to open the file again. Apparently I mistyped my PW when I set up the autorun process. It's a major program flaw in an otherwise good prog.

I had no trouble getting fast support. I just didn't like the answers I got.

Support was quick for me as well...but if I'd had a system failure and got that answer...that'd be unbelievably frustrating.

Thing that had me confused is that there IS no password on the backup.
