Golf GPS

Does anyone know of a solid working program for the mobile platform? I have seen free caddie and a couple others but aren't the most smooth working apps. Any suggestions or experiences welcomed.

Re: Golf GPS

freecaddie. There is a free version and pro version. But the free version is great and it is easy to add courses.

Re: Golf GPS

I just started playing around with Intelligolf. I haven't used it on the course yet since my wife told me I couldn't golf anymore this year. I slipped and told her that bowling costs about $25 a week, and we start next week.

Re: Golf GPS

GolfTrax is pretty lousy. It works, but it looks crappy & doesn't respond well on teh Omnia.
I used it for the GPS but couldn't get the score stuff to work smoothly.

Intelligolf looks better.

I'm gonna check out FreeCaddie.

Re: Golf GPS

Wow...FreeCaddie is solid.
Just downloaded it, grabbed all teh courses in my area (Intelli and GolfTraxx are woefully incomplete), and BANG it works...
HUGE readout.
Only complaint is that the hole doesn't advance w/ the Omnia's "action" pad.....no biggie.
Be interesting to see how the auto-hole advance works.
I don't have any interest in scoring in the prog, so the freebie is perfect.

Re: Golf GPS

Auto advance only works in conjunction with the turn screen blank option under menu.

Re: Golf GPS

Not "auto"...just manual next hole; from the "help" page:
"Change holes using the next hole/previous hole menu items or by pressing up/down on the D-pad (navigation pad). "

there's no "up/down D-pad" on teh Omnia.
