Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Thanks Keithdupont for the link to the modded eReader, it's the only one I've found that works.
However there is a strange side effect which breaks a function in the Calendar on my HD2. Trying to set the time for appointments in the Calendar no longer functions (not possible to scroll through the times - infact the graphics have changed and appear flat now opposed to the normal 3D look). Does anyone know why this has happened or a fix to correct it? Removing the CAB does resolve the issue but quite like the eReader and am hoping someone knows how to fix the problem. My ROM: 1.66.405.2 (76641) WWE Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0 |

if you install the cab i posted a few post back it will allow you to import all types of file formats into the book list, pdfs or doc files for example. however when you launch them they wont launch within the reader they will bring up the corresponding program so you must have adobe reader too.

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
I am currently now using a NRG rom with ebook cooked in as a tab BUT it only allows for 20 books. Does anyone know how to change this to unlimited?

Re: HTC Manila eReader 1.0.20113925.00 - Standalone Edition
Sorry if this is the noobiest question ever, but I tried putting the .cab on my storage card. When I get on my phone and try to click on it, it says "There is no application associated with "HTC Reader 1.0" Run the application first, then open this file from within the application".... Then I noticed that you said you "placed the shortcut under Start > Multimedia".... so tried to find a "Multimedia folder on my TP2 from my computer in order to put the .cab there. Couldn't find it. Could you tell me step by step what I should do? Again, sorry if this question is really nooby.

The error you're getting sounds more like you're trying to run a program from a link and the link is broken. As I read it, it sounds as if whoever cabbed up the program set it to place a link in the Start menu in the Multimedia folder. You'll just need to tap Start then look through to see if you now have a folder called Multimedia. If so, tap that and you should see a link to the reader. If I misunderstood what you said, you may need to place the link manually. In order to put a link/shortcut in a folder, that folder must first exist. If it doesn't, you can easily create it. The Start menu folders are located on the device (not the storage card) under \windows\start menu\programs. Grab a file manager (Total Commander, which is free, Resco, whatever) and navigate there. If the folder Multimedia doesn't exist, create it. Then go to your link and move or copy it to within that folder. You'll then be able to select it from the Start menu. The file manager should also let you check the link to ensure that whatever it's pointing to is actually there. You can then either move files or correct the link to fix it. My guess is that if you install to the device memory, the link will likely work. |
