Do you mind pointing me in the right direction on how to do that? I've got a home network set up, but I'm not seeing how to mount my shared folders on TC. (Total Commander works fine on my touch pro). Don't want to hijack your thread, just a brief explanation would be greatly appreciated.

You tap on "\" then go to "\\Plugins" at the top of the list then select "LAN."

Re: Replacement for Total Commander?

OK, folks, I downloaded and am playing with Resco Explorer. For the life of me I can't see any sign that it will drag and drop files. How do I get that set up?

Small footprint, very powerful - worth a try. More info and download link here:

Can you tell me which cab you installed for GS Finder+? I followed the link to the site and downloaded the .zip for pocket pc. i am unfamiliar with the cab formats (ARM/MIPS/SH3/WM2003). Which of the cabs should i use? (sorry- i am a noob).

Sure, 'GSFinder.PPC_ARM.CAB' is the filename of the one that works real nicely with my Vogue. I've set it for large icons, which makes for easy file navigation. I can even use my clumsy thumb:

BTW the one for WM2003 also worked for me, but was slightly different in some trivial way that I do not recall, except that it was not quite as good.

Hope this helps, MrG

I can't get it to drag-and-drop.

Any time I try to do this, it scrolls the entire screen rather than dragging an individual file.

If I could get drag-and-drop to work, Total Commander would be fine. It's not especially finger-friendly, though.

The drag and drop functionality is a casualty of M$'s downgraded listview control in WM 6.1 and "up" .. and not because of any shortcoming on TC's part. For more details, check their forum:
http://ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php?f=5

And the latest version of TC (2.52b2) has a workaround for this: extended toolbar with "ctrl" option to multiselect.

Total Commander Pocket is the best file explorer for PPC that i've seen. The built in registry editor is excellent (with seamless import/export), it even has a text editor, it's actively supported, all this and more ... for FREE!
