I bought this and have been using it the past 24 hours. Works great, though is a bit flaky about starting playback during buffering sometimes. Devs are fairly responsive also.

This work pretty good I just have to built up my playlist on GrooveShark. But it made my phone crash a few times and also my sound on my phone was gone for a bit, but after a couple of soft resets it fixed it.

Defiantly not worth 5$ :-\"

So funny thing happened to me, first off a song i was getting error on yesterday played today. More interestly i exited nG and now 2 hours later pulled my sd card out and found a file groovy.mp3 that is that song with the full tag filled out (artist/album/etc...)

I've heard this from a few other people as well. It appears to be the temp file used for the current song you are playing. Looks like nanoGroove does not delete it when you exit.

hmm the author should probably put that as his #1 item on the fix it list. I am thinking that "feature" might anger the grooveshark staff not to mention the riaa.

edit: while on the topic of "adding" functionality to grooveshark it has to be possible to force groove shark to cache more than just the song currently playing

Just a quick question, since this isn't affiliated with Grooveshark, and they are developing their own app, what's to say that this service won't be shutdown soon?
I'd love to see this work forever, and don't mind payin the 5 bucks, but I got burned with Seeqpod going down and if Grooveshark decides to not play nice I don't want to waste money.

What are your thoughts?

Its 5 dollars. How bad can you get "burned".

What he said.

In any case, it's hard to tell what, if anything Grooveshark thinks of apps like this. For instance, Groovefish used to work well. Then Grooveshark made some changes to how they stream which knocked out Groovefish. The development of Groovefish slowed when Barquest's RL started to become more demanding so Scilor made a fix that got it working again. Given that a fix was possible, it doesn't appear that the intention of Grooveshark was to knock out anyone "piggy backing" on their stream. I would think we are safe for a while. The biggest question is, will Grooveshark be forced to close as Pandora is already having legal problems and may be forced to close. Only time will tell. Look at it this way though, if the app survives for a few months, you've got your monies worth out of it. Just would suck to become accustomed to having it everywhere you go and suddenly have to give it up.

Groovefish won't care until they have an official windows mobile program. They are more concerned with legal issues and penetrating the iphone, android and blackberry markets, all of which have official apps coming.

I think you meant Grooveshark, but in any case there is more than likely some truth to that. But for now, lets just enjoy nanoGroove for as long as we have it. There are always a lot of what ifs out there.
