Camera Album from HTC touch WOW!!

2 Attachment(s)
I tried it in my Mogul and works absolutely awesome, with finger slide you switch between the pictures, Overall Mogul with extracted touch programs is the best :) The original file is from JUVS in xda thanx to him, he is the one who deserves the credit.
Now it will take a bit of practice to get zooming but
Zoom = Not to quick and full clockwise circle.
Zoom Out =counter clockwise

To open the camera Album in portrait mode download the shortcut uploaded below and put it anywhere, just link your launcher to it.

To close the HTC Camera Album what did not remain in memory

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCAlbum]

"ok_minimize"=dword:0

Rapidhsare Mirror: HERE

Edit by Pibe38: I'm attaching the CAB file compressed into a ZIP file. It's much easier... plus I hate having to wait for Rapidshare ;)

Existentialism 10-26-2007 07:54 PM

OOH! Is this the one from the video? Where you can rotate by curving on the corners? I gotta download this!! :p

EDIT: Sorry, there are two files, which one is the right one?

0409 is the ISO language code for English and 0419 is Russian. Sometimes 04 is replaced by 01.

when you install is it will be under programs see the screenshot, when you open the image it wont open with HTC album instead it will open with pictures & videos program in mogul, you can either link the program to a button or add it to a launcher, everytime you open it it will show you all the pictures you have in your document under my pictures, there is another way to open the picture from the actual file, if you have resco explorer, press in the picture you are willing to open and ull see the popup screen open and open with just like a computer when you right click on the file. choose open with and look for \windows\HTCAlbum.exe and then it will open with HTC camera album, next time when you will do the same thing you dont have to link it anymore, you press in the desired image and HTCAlbum will be listed under pictures & videos.

cool cool thanks just figured it out lol found it in the windows directory actually and just copied and pasted to my start menu. Thanks

Mustang46L 10-26-2007 09:49 PM

Well, I installed it 2x on my Mogul to main memory. Neither time did it install.

Smoky350 10-26-2007 10:25 PM

I installed it without any problems on my Mogul. But then again my Mogul never had any problems with the alarm clock or Bluetooth since new. Good Bye ImageViewer, Hello HTCAlbum I love this app.

stroths 10-26-2007 10:38 PM

I got it installed and I can get all the gestures to work. For the zoom, make sure you circle clockwise to zoom in and counterclockwise to zoom out. Also keep in mind the panning option does nothing unless you are zoomed in.

To see the different gestures, single click a picture you have open then click the caption with an "i" in it.

Doesn't seem to. I tried as both a cab and in the ROM and neither one opens. :(

This came from a WM6 device so it may not work on every WM5 device, or on WM5 at all.

InvincibleLiving 10-27-2007 03:07 AM

not sure if this works for 6700s... looks like it installs fine but then does nothing with the pics...

Pibe38 10-27-2007 04:21 AM

This works on my Mogul, but it's a little buggy. For example, I click on a picture from the mosaic where all the pictures are, the picture maximizes, then I slide to the next picture, I rotate it, the picture rotates but then it jumps back to the original picture I clicked on.

Anyone else experience this?

snotboy32 10-27-2007 04:24 AM

does not work on my Mio A701 with cooked wm6 Rom either.

DexterH 10-27-2007 05:14 AM

Thank you very much, looks like HTC keeps on giving us the gooooodddd stuff.

:protest:Causion ! Causion!! Causion!!!
after installing camera album, i was able to access and view all photos on the storage card in "My Documents", but then file explorer when into a re-indexing or refreshing of all the files on the device and storage card. once done i could no longer access or add new folders on the storage card "my documents" all data in that folder is either in accessable or lost. I have found no way to gain access ](*,) to "my documents" or subfolders on the sd card. Love the program works without flaw.

SINNN 10-27-2007 03:41 PM

This is a killer app for the mogul. Very nice. best picture viewer.

If that happened because of this app I wouldn't say it works without a flaw.

Anyway, I can access my folders fine.

ricketkm 10-27-2007 04:01 PM

need help installing this i see it in my programs but i when i hit it it wont open

Pibe38 10-27-2007 04:04 PM

It would help to know what device you have. As you may have read above, this may not work in every device... so maybe it simply doesn't work on yours.

poorlyduck 10-27-2007 06:14 PM

I just updated the 1st post with portrait mode shortcut made by the original author JUVS and closed application registry tweak instead of minimize to save your memory.

If you launch with that shortcut, you will be locked in portrait mode. If you launch directly from the exe (\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe), the album will detect your orientation and launch appropriately.

To modify HTC Home Launcher for this, go to:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHome\Launcher\(album icon position number)
Change Path to \Windows\HTCAlbum.exe

Thank you for the info, but did you check the zip file I posted in the 1st post? if you open the shortcut, this what it shows 21#\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe -mode: picture -type:image so basically the shortcut made to access the .exe from the launcher or programs menu.

Yes, JUVS found two options for the shortcut:

-mode: picture (portrait)
-mode: camera (landscape)

As far as I know, there is no -mode: automatic. But I found that if you launch or link directly to the .exe (not using a shortcut), the album opens in the orientation you're in.

TurboFool 10-27-2007 07:24 PM

Love this program, but it's not flawless. The fact that it doesn't organize the photos at all is kind of a pain. It loads every single photo on both your internal and memory card, and if you've got as many photos as I do on your card, this makes it painfully slow. Also a good way to inadvertently display photos you may not want everyone to see...

Well again the shortcut I posted is the Cameraalbum.exe direct shortcut, you replace the one you have in \windows\start menu and it will do, when you are in landscape mode it will open as landscape if you are in portrait mode it will open in portrait.

Ok, I get the confusion now. You see, the first shortcut that came with the album software was the one that opened it in landscape mode (-mode: camera). That shortcut wouldn't allow you to open in portrait mode at all. I see the second shortcut (-mode: picture) DOES allow you to open in landscape mode even though its intended purpose is for portrait.

It's all good, use that shortcut :)
