Saving pics to SD

This is what I did on my 6700 to save pics to the SD card (thnx to Pzztgotbagz for the tip):
In camera mode, click on the tools (that's the squarish button with the screwdrivers) => Tools => Options => General => Save to, pick Storage Card.
That did the trick for me.
Almost forgot, I think you need to creat \my documents\my pictures in your storage card, and change \my documents\my pictures in \my device to something different, like suggested in the first post (I think). I think it was sugge
ted to do: \my documents\_my pictures.
I think, not 100% sure that if you don't have \my storage card\my documents\my pictures, when you take a new pic with your camera, a \my documents\my pictures folder will be created.
Sorry if I'm rambling, but my headache's killing me.

Anyone have a clue or answer?
I have one question. How do I arrange the pics to the order I would like to show it?
I tried renaming it so it lists (in the file explorer) in the order I like but it still shows the pics in same order.

Has anyone figured this out? It appears the album sort of organizes by date, but not really. How can we organize the photos within the album?

how do you get it work on the 6700

how do you get it to work on the xv6700. if possible can someone give instructions on how to do this. i have tried to install and i will get the camera album but that is it. nothing will happen when i click on it. so any help on this will gladly be helpful.. thanks

I got this to work, but I had to rename the My Pictures folder in My Documents in order to get the program to view pics on my SD. But what it really does is search my device for all JPGs which includes ones in Program files, windows, etc. The folder on my SD is DCIM which is the default for the Camera App. I can't rename it to My Pictures or next time the camera starts it creates the DCIM folder again. Any ideas?

Nautica, try this one:

No need to rename folders or anything like that. It works well in my XV6700.

Does anyone know where the regestry i would need to edit would be on the Verizon XV6800 for making it close instead of minimize?

moneymike703 01-09-2008 07:39 PM

xweaponx 01-09-2008 09:24 PM

Downloaded and runs great on my PPC 6800. Damn right nice too. Uses a chunk of memory while active but its neglible since I run one app at a time and close after use anyhow.

But the interface is sweet!

Thanks for posting!

You're holding your finger in one spot too long. When you tap and hold, it's for you to pan across the image. You need to start making a circle as soon as your finger touches the screen

MrGoodtunes 01-12-2008 07:08 PM

Like ivtec20 and kcaegis45 before, I too wish to unlock the secret HTC Photo Album uses to order pics. In fact, I want this so badly, I've spent hours doing trial & error, only to find every trial ending in error. I've ruled out file name, order saved, last modified date, and even date created doesn't matter. Arrgh. The only thing my trials have proved for sure, besides the 4 aforementioned being failures, is that the order stays the *same* even after re-creating an album pic via cutting from a BMP scan and creating a new JPG! So, the program must be using SOME specific thing consistently.

Korona 02-01-2008 11:48 AM

i can't figure out the re-ordering either!

vzwty 02-01-2008 11:37 PM

Now it will take a bit of practice to get zooming but
Zoom = Not to quick and full clockwise circle.
Zoom Out =counter clockwise

To open the camera Album in portrait mode download the shortcut uploaded below and put it anywhere, just link your launcher to it.

To close the HTC Camera Album what did not remain in memory

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCAlbum]

"ok_minimize"=dword:0

Edit by Pibe38: I'm attaching the CAB file compressed into a ZIP file. It's much easier... plus I hate having to wait for Rapidshare ;)

UGH IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT STUPID PORTRAIT THING!!!

Open it with WinZip or WinRAR and extract it, then copy it to your device and open it.

Viola! Installed.

I'm having a problem with the program just shutting itself down while in use. Anyone else had this problem and / or know how to fix it?

To go one step beyond this: Is there any way to just completely bypass the Pictures and Videos application (pimg.exe)? I hate it. When I hit the button in the camera application to look at my pictures, it automatically loads pimg.exe.

I've already tried changing all the .lnk files that point to pimg.exe to instead point to htcalbum.exe, but no joy. I also tried editing the following API entries in the registry:

:MSCAMERA
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\RAI\:MSCAMERA]
["1"=reg_sz:pimg.exe -camerakey] changed to ["1"=reg_sz:htcalbum.exe]

:MSPIMG
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\RAI\:MSPIMG]
["1"=reg_sz:pimg.exe] changed to ["1"=reg_sz:htcalbum.exe]

Nothing has worked so far. Does anyone know what the camera application calls for the picture viewer? Is it hard-coded to call pimg.exe? That would be fine, I could just rename htcalbum.exe to pimg.exe (that'd probably work if there wasn't a self-reference in there)...but I can't overwrite pimg.exe! Does anyone know how to do that?!

Thanks!
