Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

The only problem with a full restore is that it will also restore the problems your having. To acomplish what you want (and I have done it so I know what your going for) you need to only restore the extras (AKA PIM data) all the apps and tweaks should be done manually.

If my experience is any indicator, it will take time and effort, but you may wind up with a lot more speed and possibly even memory, and probably resolve some bugs you may not even realize your having!!!

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

i have a sprint diamond and after installing dashwire it creates a directory under the application data directory and that directory after syncing has over 20mb of files in it. needless to say that leaves me with no space left on the phone after i install my few other programs on the phone. i know when i had my touch it would save that directory to my transflash, why wont dashwire save that now to the internal 4gb of storage section? so until it can i guess i will use the new aol sync
http://aolsync.aol.com/main.do
it will only do contacts and calendars but in the future it will do email, but i did find a way arround that by just setting the email on windows to do that part not push mind you but still at least the contacts and calandar are pushed to you.

Look at this:
scheduleworld.com
That uses the same thing, but it has the option for email. Maybe it works? It is interesting to see that they are using Funambol, since that is the same technology/program that scheduleworld.com uses. I reccomend just using Scheduleworld, because it has better online features, and greater compatability.

I have tried funambol. Is it any different then from the original app?
I kind of wish funamol and dashwire would work together because I like properties from both programs.

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)

i just downloaded and used dashwire so that i can hard boot my phone.

I know on the site, I added bookmarks, but how do they get added on the phone, and the pictures, when I sync up - i just get them through the actual program, then have to make the pictures public to save em to the phone again.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Completely agree about the merger of the two... However, I think the Funambol is an open-souce project, and therefore not an actual company, unless I am mistaken.

About the two in relation:
I have only used Scheduleworld, since I found out about it. I love it, and has a lot of great features that are very helpful. It allows you to have an email sent as a reminder, at a configurable setting, to anyone. It also allows you to sync to your desktop, so it just works for me.
I am not sure how different or alike they are, I just try to stay away from AOL as much as possible. They always make things more bloated, and take longer to accomplish for me. I can do anything I need with the standalone program, that you get when you register for the scheduleworld account.

the four gb is seperate from the 4gb internal storage which dashwire will not allow me to install to. There is 203.8mb program, 91.2mb storage memory and 3.7gb internal storage memory. of the storage memory i use about 20 something mb for programs and a few ringtones.

the only reason i use aol is for email some companies now are seeming to reject job applicants who use free email accounts like yahoo and hotmail, which i use all the time along with gmail. so i thought i use my free aol account now instead to see if that helps.
