It took me two weeks to finally find a Dashwire engineer who knew how to cancel the account. Very beta operation. |

Re: Dashwire 2.0 (Updated 6/24/08)
Whew I leave for a little relaxing weekend in montana, get back into the office this morning, and from the looks of it there seems to be some extra activity... teaches me to take a vacation
Sorry to all of you that posted for not making what Dashwire does completely clear. And sorry the response from us has been a little late in coming. To be absolutely clear: First of all any information on the Dashwire site is deletable. And to the initial question about us deleting entire accounts, yes we do delete accounts. As stated before, you need to email support@dashwire.com with the request. We forward the email to our engineers who then take care of the account. That said, in the past couple of weeks our engineers have been incredibly busy with a couple of projects and the deletions might have taken a couple of days. But once a request comes the account will get deleted. Second, all content from the phone should sync (pictures, videos, calls, text messages, etc.) to your personal dashboard as long as your phone is using WM 5, 6.0, or 6.1. Now we have had some issues with 6.1 recently, and we are currently working on a build that should solve those issues. But most of our users can sync all of their content even with 6.1 (we think it might be a narrow issue that has to do with certain phones). And thirdly, there seems to be some misunderstanding about Dashwire and the sync/restore functionality. So again to be clear: Dashwire syncs all of your content from your phone to your personal dashboard online. Now if you wipe your phone or buy a new one, once you download Dashwire onto your new device all of your contacts, web favorites, and speed dials are restored. Your calls, text messages, photos, and videos remain saved onto your dashboard (though not restored to your device), and any new content you create on the phone is automatically added to the dashboard. Some back-up programs have more functionality, but we see ourselves as more than just a back-up program. We want to be a social conduit that connects your life to phone and the web (and thus to others) in easy and useful ways. And finally, the dashboard and the information in it is protected by the same security system Facebook uses. The security of your personal information is paramount to us thus we do everything we can to make sure it stays safe. I hope that answers some of your concerns and questions. In my absence I really appreciate those users that helped with some of the issues. And thanks to all of our users. We are still in beta and all of your input and support is really pushing us to make the best possible product. It's a process... but with your help we'll all get there.
