yeah its pretty impressive actually. I tried it on my brothers iphone and it wakes you up really gently in a state where you already feel awake and the gradually increasing alarm just makes you more alert. there is no heart attack moment of your alarm going off and you waking up in a panic to hit snooze and going back to sleep. it just wakes you up whenever it senses you are ready and does this within a 30 minute window prior to the time you set it too |

Re: sleep cycle tracker using g-sensor
It's not possible to tell at what sleep stage a sleeper is based on movement data. That would require an EEG.

Re: sleep cycle tracker using g-sensor
Well if you are tossing and turning or shall we say, having fun with someone, it could tell that. Hehe.
That said IDK if there is anyone who could port this because no one would know how they program for it really. |

yeah i guess it's not SUPER accurate but the important thing is that it works. So it'd be cool to have

Re: sleep cycle tracker using g-sensor
I have seen an application for windows phones that sets off an alert and can send a text message automatically if a person has the phone on them and they have a siezure. I have heard of several years ago in a tech article about a theft deterrent (there was no accelerometer on devices when this article was wrote) they were talking about you set the sensor and it creates an algorythum of you like your gait when you walk and move and if the phone detects a different persons movements it will make the phone inoperable the article was about theft deterrent features. I don't know if anyone ever put it to use.. I would think with a sleeping app the bed does not move that much to make it work right but even a timed quiet wake up is supposed to help. my brother had a pretty good alarm it was just a light that got pretty bright and would help wake you slower than (BEEP BEEP!) The idea being behind that the suddeness of normal alarm clocks kinda shocks your body.
I can't beleive but it only took me 3 minutes to find something on it (could be useful if you sleepwalk etc too depending on what the app does I have not used the app. and this was like the first thing I pulled up on google) http://news.thewherebusiness.com/con...tects-seizures |
