With their own OS on the line (android), I'm not sure if Google finds it to their interest to enhance any features of Google Maps for other platforms.

no doubt google will never do this except for andriod.

it's a huge marketing point they have (and google needs them really to attract casuals/iphone-like users)

I use both so it would be better to keep it.

I kept TomTom as well as GoogleMaps/Bing. I like being able to search businesses quickly. Bing would also search near your current location for them and map it out all around you. Not to mention showing you gas prices too.

Yes, they mentioned in a video I saw earlier that it's on the way. Of course Android will be priority. Plus Goggles and Wave are coming along nicely- again, Android is the Pilot platform.

Yes it does, but Google maps is considerably more convenient (and accurate) for this.

I use both:
-Google Maps shows address #'s when you zoom in far enough
-Garmin Mobile XT is not good with address # accuracy when it's off of main roads.

I was doing deliveries in one of the largest land-area towns in Connecticut and Garmin would send me to the wrong end of a road occasionally. But you gotta love how GMXT is using Google Live services that only their brand-new/high-end GPS models are using.

I use both...but to be honest, the only thing I use Google Maps for is Latitude. Otherwise I use Garmin for any sort of navigation.

I completely agree with this, I just wish they would update the app, and maybe lessen the lag or make it more smooth like iGo. I mean, come on, it hasn't been updated in over a year!!!

You can also import the Trapster database and it'll alert you of user-submitted police hideouts.

The only thing I like about iGo is how smooth it is while driving, zooming, etc compared to Garmin. I hate the routes iGo chooses though and I haven't been able to make them any better.

To the OP's question, I have both installed still, but I mainly use Garmin. If I just need a phone number I usually end up using Google Maps though.

I'll have to try garmin XT, but I do use Latitude. I usually use 1-800-GOOG-411 for directory assistance.
