Does it make a difference? Tough call. It certainly didn't have any negative side effects... |

Malatesta have you noticed any difference yet? Did you use the same unlock code or a sprint unlock code? I wouldn't mind trying this, nothing could make the volume any worse than it is now.

The title should be corrected. It uses less compression on the voice signal, giving better quality. I did this like 6 months ago, but I think I need my MSL code to do it. from thrilsekr Quote:

Thanks for the info. I thought I needed my msl code. The volume is the one thing that drives me crazy. If I don't use my bluetooth I can't hear. You get the old "you got a $500 phone and you can't hear me. I got this thing running like a top except for that. I would pay for a program that would fix this.

It has made some difference on my unit, with conversations all the sudden going ultra quiet. but it will not increase the loudness overall. If your on sprint you will need your MSL (vzw leaves theirs blank, a la 000000) you can call for it, but you will have a hell of a time or you can try bitpim see this thread
oh, and this isn't exatly a reg hack either, you are actually chaning the settings of the phone chip
