Zor `El 01-20-2008 03:54 AM

I've been using the battery hack on my Touch for a couple of weeks now and while it hasn't made my battery life worse I can't say that its made significantly better. I would get a couple more hours out of it then I did right after I got it which was nice to have. I have noticed today that since I had bluetooth turned off all day long that my battery life has been drastically higher then it normally is. Its curently 2:52AM EST and I've had my phone on since about 12:00PM Saturday and the battery is only down to 70% despite several calls, text messages, and frequent internet usage. My suggestion after all this would be to use the BT on the Touch sparingly if possible if you want to really stretch out your battery life.

kosmodisk 01-23-2008 07:09 AM

hey is it possible to use this regedit on my HP ipaq rw6815 wm6 (O2 atom)?
will I be able to use bluetooth, wifi and irDA correctly?

reddjeep88 01-23-2008 06:28 PM

I did the reg. edits this morning. Usually by 2:30 in the afternoon I'm down to 50% or so. I usually have about 30-40 minutes of calls, 10-20 minutes of bible reading, 20-30 minutes of wi-fi time and BT is on 24-7. I don't use any of the "push" e-mail. I do mine the old fashioned way by loggin in to Yahoo. Backlight is set to 3 minutes. IR is off.

Today, I'm running at 80% at 2:30pm!!! Yay!

I'll be curious to see how this thing does tomorrow with a full charge and the normal routine. Will post results...

tweaks

how do I do these tweaks

reddjeep88 01-24-2008 07:39 PM

***UPDATE***

A day later (and on a full charge to start with) I'm still showing 80% @3:30pm!!!

Definately an improvement over what I had before the tweaks!!!!

And, Ro., go back to the first page and read the 2nd post. You'll need a registry editor, and do the 4 changes shown. Pretty easy to do really.

kosmodisk 01-25-2008 11:08 AM

is it only for 6700 and 6800 or for other wm6 pdas too???

are you able to use your bt,wl, and irda after this patch????

Modus Operandi 01-31-2008 11:01 PM

earlier in the thread people said to use a reg edit, i've read PHM is good so I went to download theirs, but the have several to choose from I don't know which works best on the mogul???

Re: Battery tweaks

Greetings
Im new here- well I got'a start !

iv a Dopod dopod838pro with WM6
professional installed.

I need to find a hack so when my set is linked to computer (active sync) and the battery is full it turns the charging off. Now I hear some other model phones have a box to check under settings/system/power but not Dopod.
Now my phone is linked up sometimes all day (heavy user) and iv lost a battery recently from overheating.
So I ask may there be a kind Geek who can master together a needed hack.
Thanks a lot (in advance)
and may all fellow pda users have a nice day.

HTC Touch Battery life

Does anyone know if the Battery Tweaks.cab file found on this site will help with the battery performance of the HTC Touch?

This should work on any windows mobile device. it enables powermanagement in about 4 or 5 categories in winmo. The following is most likely the entries:
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\PPTP1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\L2TP1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\SDCARD\ClientDrivers\Class\SDMemory_Class]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000

These are what I have, I have added the SDCARD powermanagement edit.

Re: Battery tweaks

I just installed this on my HTC Touch and made the tweaks. I have the extended 1500mh battery. It is not a problem if I'm driving and have access to the charger or and home and can use the wall charger. I really hate taking both chargers with me. A larger problem is when I'm on my motorcycle. I like the phone but the battery capacity is a large con. If this doesn't work or if any of my applications don't work, I will be getting the new Palm 800w. My 700p had issues. I was leary of going to WM but now would not do without it. I used my palm the same amount of time and type of useage. My Palm would last 2 or 2 1/2 days without a recharge. I miss it. I will post my results. If this doesn't work, can I just put the reg back and then delete the program or will I have to do a hard reset? Thanks in advance for your responses.

I'm pretty sure if you reversed the tweaks then you should be okay. It's always a good idea to do a registry backup before you make ANY registry changes.

Personally, I did this hack and it worked GREAT on my Titan. I left it off my charger intentionally last night after pulling it off my charger about 9am with a 100% charge. I did heavy texting and some internet usage and phone usage and 24 hours later it was still at 46%. AMAZING. I'm using dcd's 3.2.0 ROM too .

Yes it does if you are running the same OS as what the .CAB was created for.
The .CAB was created for WM 6.0 and some of edits will not work on WM 6.1

These cabs are great, they have brought new life into my Apache.

Re: Battery tweaks

Is there a battery .cab tweak that works with 6.1? I have an Alltel touch.
(I tried searching but did not find anything specific...thanks)

Re: Battery tweaks

Anybody? .cab tweak for Mobile 6.1?

shaggylive 11-29-2008 11:15 AM

Re: Battery tweaks

if someone will point out the differences, I would be happy to cab them up. I don't have any complaints with mine, but i'm not sure if it b/c of the kitchen or a tweek I did.

Re: Battery tweaks

OK...I just backed up my phone and applied the registry settings from page 1. Alltel HTC Touch with Official 6.1 ROM. It is rare I can go more than a day and a half without charging, less if I am on the net with it. I will let you know how it works for me.

Well, with similar (or less) usage than normal, I think the battery is a little LESS than without the tweak. I am sitting on 30% battery when normally at this time of night I am 50-60%. I am re-entering the original registry settings.

Because the TP does not have infrared Ir=Infrared.

Garwood71 02-01-2009 01:53 PM

Re: Battery tweaks

Well that explains that. If there was ir imagine how much the batt. would suffer on this. Did you change yers this way and if so any diff? Thanks for previous answer too.

Re: Battery tweaks

would these battery tweaks work for the 800w? the battery life on that is really crapy

OR78 02-03-2009 06:31 PM

Re: Battery tweaks

Yes the tweak will work. If you do change this on a phone that doesn't have IR its not that big of a deal. But why leave it on if you don't have it is how I see it.
