Changing the img names

Is there a way to change the name each picture is taken as to say the date the img is taken?

If the change could be done system wide I see a problem creeping up. How would you distinguish between multiple photos taken on the same day?

modify the name to say such as 092201 092202 etc etc

I know this is old but no one answered and figured someone might want to know. when the camera is on just go to 'config' button, then 'tools' on the bottom left then 'options then change the 'prefix' to date. today would be 20071015_00010 (year month day_image number)

Atleast in the 6700 its this way
