Cab Style regedits - get em here - requests welcomed
 

ok, we are going to use this thread for registry hacks on our titans.

in each attached zip file is a cab for easy installation and a text file to let you know what was changed. all of these cabs should be uninstallable which will restore the registry back to the way it was before installing.

so far sprintdude and i are doing these. if you would like to help let me know. the cabs are all going to have the company name of "PPCGeeks" and a Default Install Dir of "Program Files / PPCGeeksHacks. this will not credit the individuals, but the site in which we work for.

Request are welcomed. they must be correctly typed up because we are just going to cut, copy, and paste them into cabs. please only request cabs for hacks that are know to work correctly.

if you need/want a registor editor... you can get phm or total commander or free. resco will cost ya.

update... all the zip files have a text file in them that tells you what we changed.

BatteryAndPerformanceHack = increases battery life and adds speeds performance
MmsSizeLimitHack = increases mms size limit
NoSentMessage removes the "message sent" message when sending text messages.
A2DP_BT_Hack = improves bt audio
TitleBarDateHack = adds date and time in titel bar

since we can only put 5 cabs in a post, i will just use this post to provide the link to download. i will update this post regularly.

internet speed hack i dont exactly know for sure. if someone does.. let me know and i will update this.

lots of extra spaces in the above reg keys. becareful because the wrong info wont work. also, you have two different settings for .... HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AD2P/Settings/BitPool

not sure if this one will work or not. the two spaces at the end are weird. since the srting is not there default i dont know how it is suppost to look like. is the "M/d/yy " suppose to have the " around it or is it M/dd/yy ?

the mms one, does that make it so that other people receive my text msgs as just one msg?

and why would anyone not want the "Message Sent" notification? am i missing something?

what about a simply UI which just lists all the hacks, has short description, then an install/uninstall button? Perhaps the list of hacks can be updated through a web service so as new ones are added, they show up in the list.

Just a thought so it would be easier to go to one location for all these awesome hacks

i like this idea Ill have to work with cody in order to make this happen as that program wouldn't be a "cab" but an actual program. I'll see what we can do on this.

well since i just hit the "send" key i didn't think it needed to tell me i just sent it. i know i just sent it.

if you like it that is fine. that is why we want to seperate these hacks. not all are going to be for everyone.

i was tring to learn c++ a while back. maybe this winter. right now all i know is mortscript. it is still possible with that but wouldn't be as cool. good idea but a little beyond my skills.

can someone explain what the mms one does?

How about the camera reg edits? so we can record in large and CTF or whatever..?

multimedia messaging (picture, video, music)

im running a dcd rom and the reg changes didn't stay any thoughts?

I could help write something in c#. I find it a little easier/quicker to develope in. Let me know. I can write the web service and build the data model to support it.

I tried this camera hack using reg edit but there seemed to be a limit to how long you can record. I was using the CTF with 19frames per min, but it would just stop and give me an error "not enough memory" when I clearly have 15mb RAM left. I don't know what memory its looking for but I have a 1.3 gb free from storage card (where all my pics and videos are saved automatically) and 15mb RAM.

There was a regedit hack page but I don't know where it is right now (its on ppcgeeks.com as well), I'll look for it to post the link here.

Does anyone know if what the problem might have been?

I stopped using the CTF and large video recording, I use the medium now.

i have total commander registry editor, and i was wondering if they work as good with it as any other registry editor.

This is an awesome thread. I love the app idea!!!!! My only suggestion that might help a lot of repeated posts of "What does this one do" is to provide a brief discription what each Reg CAB does and possibly the actual reg settings in the OP.

yes please make the cab files specific..that would be great for us noobs..plz tell us how they work..I have one question..if i dont have a registry editor how do i know if the hacks work or not?

the mms hack increases the size limit of the mms.

you have to wait at least 60 seconds before doing a softreset. after the softreset the reg edits take effect.

i use that and the phm one. look in the first post for links. they both work great and are free. total commander does a lot more the just registory.

The unlock phone hack, stops the phone from doing its security checks on cabs and applications, incase you have an application that gives you that error, i cant be specific cause im not 100% on what they are, but i know it fixes it when i used to have them, lol...

As for the video recording hack, that gives your two new types of video size and increases the data rate... but i was a dumb ass and didnt include the data rate hack... can you make that cab do both of these hacks...
This will allow you to get DECENT video with motionjpeg at the cif resolution...

Are there any programs made for Windows Mobile 6 (or particularly the Mogul 6800) that enables you to change the font color of text on the Today screen? I know regedits could enable you to do that, but I was wondering if there were alternatives. I'm not sure if there are others like me, but I get antsy just THINKING about editing anything in the registry.

i have some questions

can i remove these .cab using the remove programs option under settings on my mogul? if so, does it revert back to the original settings from when my phone was new or the settings right before i installed the cab

reg hack don't take up any space. do these cabs do? if so, how much?

i have a 2 gb card. can i install these cabs on my card and have them work? are there any that need to be installed on my mogul to work?
