I see that you guys have been posting a ton of regedits and hacks. One I used the other day was to get WM5 dialer to show instead of my Treo dialer. I knew full well I would lose my voicemail notification. But, I thought someone much smarter than I would have figured it out.

I was playing with the process to hack the WM5 dialer and realized which step appears to cause the loss of voicemail. It appears to be the setting under hklm/security/phone/skin. In the hack it says to set the setting to 0. This from what I am assuming means it does not open the app associated with the skin. The app associated with the skin is "PhoneCanvasPlugIn.dll".

Anyone who is good at this please help. I think something could be done if this file could be deconstructed but I don't know how. Please help. I can't be the only person wondering about this. Thanks.

I've searched a whole bunch of threads, but I couldn't find an answer. I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the default calander on the HTC Touch to Thumbcal? I don't want is as a soft key, but the today plugin, so that when I press the calender I go straight to Thumbcal and not the generic one that came with the phone. Thanks in advance.

The settings are

Under HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
Change AllowRoaming to 0 (not sure if this is needed or not)

Under HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\NetworkService
Change ItemCount to 3 (instead of 2)
Create a new String called ItemName3 with the value of "Roam Only" (without quotes)
Create a new DWord called ItemValue3 with a value of 3

and

do the reg entries in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSett ing

change ItemCount to 3

New string: ItemName3 Value- Roaming.

New Dword: ItemValue3 Value- 3

and reset. now it sticks
