Full Facebook Contact Import Tutorial
Not to confuse anyone, but this tutorial will be explained for Windows 7. But can be done on XP, Vista, Mac, and Linux (or any other OS for that matter). Just use Step Two Part B instead of Step Two, unless you know what you are doing. (if you know what you are doing, why would you be reading this. ;P)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- This tutorial will explain -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Import Contacts from Facebook to Outlook Express Import Contact pictures from Facebook to Outlook Express -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the tools needed. (*means it is added as an attachment) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firefox GreaseMonkey AddressBooker GreaseMonkey Script* BookSync CAB* Windows Mobile phone with ActiveSync GMail Account Facebook Account Common Sense (You can use any browser that has a GreaseMonkey add-on, but I will use Firefox for this) So once you have collected all the needed tools. Lets get to work. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP ONE ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first thing you are going to need to do is to open up FireFox and install Grease Monkey. That can be found by clicking this link. Once that is done, install the script, either by clicking here, or installing it from the attachment. After you have added that script, you need to get to your FaceBook phonebook by clicking here, or logging into FaceBook, and going to friends > phonebook. Once you are on that page, this is where the magic happens. You are going to click Tools > Grease Monkey > User Script Commands > Export Facenook Phone Book. That should open a new screen. When it does, click the link that says "Merge into your Google Contacts for GMail, Android, etc." It will once again, go to a new page that gives you an overview of what your import will look like. Click the "DO IT" button, and click the allow this script to access your Google account. Once that is finished you are half way done. Click here to check out your imported contacts. They will be added to the Facebook group. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP TWO -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now we need to set up Active Sync to work for us. This is how to do that the easy way. I assume you know how to open up Windows Mobile Device Center. So open it up, and click "Set up your device". Once that is open, uncheck every field and click next. Wait for it to finish and this screen will come up. Hover over "Mobile Device Settings" and click "more" Then, click on "Sync wirelessly with Exchange Server". Enter in your details just like this, and click "set up" Once it syncs, click on "Change content sync settings" Check contacts and hit save. Your contacts will sync and this part is done. Check your phone to make sure it worked. PHOTOS WILL NOT BE THERE YET! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- STEP TWO SECTION TWO -------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.google.com/support/mobile...36&topic=14299 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART THREE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is where are are going to import photos to all your new contacts. Install the Booksync CAB to your phone and open it up. Once logged in click on "match" And then "auto" It will match up your contacts. Then click Sync. I have 45 contacts and the sync took about 4 minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CELEBRATE -------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are now finished. Your contacts will be synced from now on. But when a new contact is synced, make sure to run Booksync again to grab their picture. If there is request for a video tutorial, I will be more than happy to do that. |

Re: Full Facebook Contact Import Tutorial
Very nice and well written guide.
However, you could just use fonebook and do it all in one simple easy step with no instructions required. http://www.developingtrends.co.uk/So...k/Default.aspx
