Re: SIMPLE PROGRAM NEEDED! Toggle roaming only settings...

that is interesting... what phone are you using?
It sounds like we need to modify the shortcut for your phone.

Re: SIMPLE PROGRAM NEEDED! Toggle roaming only settings...

I have an Alltel PPC-6800, under my phone settings I do not have a home or roaming selection. I guess Alltel left that out. Will this script work for me to be able to select? Is there any modification that needs to be done to the script to make the sprint default and alltel default?

Re: SIMPLE PROGRAM NEEDED! Toggle roaming only settings...

check in your registry and let me know what you find at

hklm\software\oem\InitProv\Phonesetting
or
hklm\software\oem\phonesetting\networkservice

but if the shortcut i provided in the zip doesn't bring up the page for the settings to select roaming and then the roaming selection.. then this may be sprint specific. does alltel have the option on any other type of phones to select roaming, automatic or "alltel' only?

Re: SIMPLE PROGRAM NEEDED! Toggle roaming only settings...

under hklm\software\oem\InitProv\Phonesetting

I find Home Only as ItemName1
and Standard as ItemName2

The ItemCount is 2

Let me know what you think. Also, I cannot check any other Alltel Phones because this is my first. I used to have a Treo 700wx with sprint but its a company issued phone and the company I work for is switching their 4000+ phone contract from sprint to Alltel.

Re: SIMPLE PROGRAM NEEDED! Toggle roaming only settings...

Well i assume Home Only is the same as sprint only and Standard is the same as automatic. if i'm not mistaken my apache was like that.
so since this script just goes through the motions of picking a roaming selection, it certainly can't pick what isn't there.
you might want to look in the registry under hklm\software\oem\phonesetting to see if there are any pages you can unhide which will show anything similar to sprints.

Re: SIMPLE PROGRAM NEEDED! Toggle roaming only settings...

Yeah there is nothing else hidden, so I am assuming it is custom for alltel in the rom. There is a program under my remove programs, called alltel hidden. I am thinking about removing that and seeing what kind of options pop up.

bump! http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=320548&page=3

I circled back around to this, and apparently I forgot about it because everyone else did too.. anyway, I can't get either method to work.

the problem with the mortscript is that the roaming services has changed position in the phone settings menu... anyluck on a app?

Make sure the data connection (and voice connection) is disconnected before the seting is changed...

Any particular reason why?
