converting packages to Cabs.

alright so let me start off first by saying if this is in the wrong place i hope some nice mod moves it!

ok now my question is HOW do i convert package files. such as ones in the kitchens into cabs i can install without flashing.

my reasons for this are I'm a linux user. i do not like having to install a windows based os just to install a program on my phone. can anyone explaine how to convert packages into cabs.

well, most things are available in cab format. if their not then likely a cab won't work, but there are some tools out there to aid with what your trying to do, results will very.
other wise no2chem once made an app nuePackage installer, and I believe dan made a cab for it, but it too is not guaranteed.
lastly I'll recommend sashimi, as it has a variety of tools all wrapped up in a neat app to automate a personalized install.
