Exclamation Phone used as USB keyboard

I have the Apache and I would like to use it has a USB keyboard. Is there a way to do this. The reason being, I fix POS terminals in the town I live in and I get calls and have to go straight there, even when I was out and about and I don't want to have to keep a keyboard in the vehicle or run home and grab one. These terminals don't have keyboards or PS/2 ports. Only USB and since I know you can use the phone as a Bluetooth keyboard (seen it done) then why not a USB keyboard.

Question Re: Phone used as USB/Bluetooth keyboard/mouse for PC

I was re-imaging a PC yesterday and it got very annoying to have to swap the keyboard and mouse from my main computer to the PC I was working and back and forth numerous times!!

I was thinking, it would be so much nicer to have a USB dongle like the wireless keyboards/mouse have and bluetooth my phone to it. Otherwise even if I could plug the USB cable that I sync the phone with and run an application on the phone and have the phone detected as a wireless keyboard/mouse.

I know this has to be possible. Why hasn't anyone made something like this yet???

Yeah, it is a USB to Bluetooth adapter so you can add Bluetooth support to computers that lack it... I would only buy the flashdrive sized one for a desktop PC... There are USB adapters smaller than dimes that can more or less stay permantently in a laptop USB port beacuse the are so small...

Re: Phone used as USB keyboard

actually that would be pretty cool. I should try that bluetooth one with my bluetooth serial adapter (to usb adaptor)
come to think of it are there any usb bluetooth adapters that can store pairing info internally?

The only ones I've seen like that are audio only BT adapters... (They plug in the Mic/Earphone port and allow to pair with BT Headphones...) I don't think it would be cost effective for something like that with a USB plug...

Re: Phone used as USB keyboard

true, that rs232-bt adaptor wasn't cheep, but provides great versitility. I have even hooked it up to an old barcode reader, but thanks to the TP and barcorama I don't need it for that any more. hopefully this weekend I'll have time to play with it and prove the concept anyway.

sorry, misspelled.. updated with link.

Look in the Software Forum, there is a tread or two there, along with links to download...
