I don't have any plans right now to actually silence the system/phone volume but it's something that wouldn't be hard to put in later. I'm thinking the idea would be that you have your own "do not disturb" profile where you could set options like "suppress all sound/notifications" and have rules and actions to auto-respond to calls/sms with a "i'm not available, try back later" message.

Re: Developing app for sms forwarding, missed call notification, auto-responding

Getting closer! The GUI is mostly done, so what's left to do is some basic polish, error reporting, etc.

Hopefully i'll have something to demo this week!

Re: Developing app for sms forwarding, missed call notification, auto-responding

I'm choosing the following for beta-testing (sorry if you weren't chosen, if there's another round you'll get in):

EMSChiefNJ
6700Yuma
jaodnam
gearjunkeez
shaggylive

So far, I've been developing for WM6 Professional / .NET 2.0. But it should work with WM5 and/or .NET 3.5. That means the requirements are
1. WM w/ touchscreen
2. .NET 2.0

Please let me know if this is not compatible for you!

Re: Developing app for sms forwarding, missed call notification, auto-responding

A little teaser!

First, the main screen of the app:
Shows a profile named "archive", which we'll dive into

The profile has an SmsRule (there is also IncomingCallRule, MissedCallRule, and VoicemailRule)

The rule has no criteria, but you can do criteria based on time, sms sender (contact), and sms body (message).
There is a MessageAction named "send email". For right now, you can only do MessageActions, but I should get GpsActions, and LogActions done for the next beta stage.

This is the MessageAction editor, you can send to other mobiles as SMS, and/or to email addresses.

You can configure the message subject however you want using variables (which are available in the menu).

The message body is likewise configurable.

Once you're done modifying the Profile, it'll show you the profile list

Then you can individually enable/disable profiles.

Re: Developing app for sms forwarding, missed call notification, auto-responding

I'm very excited about this. We started transferring our entire network at work yesterday to a new IP scheme, so I've got printers to reconfigure and add back to computers, DHCP servers to redo, web servers to change, Access Points to reconfigure, and DNS to redo. WHEEEEEEEEE!!!!! As soon as I can breathe, I'm gonna give this a go.
