I've decided to make Chronobis free for use, see http://www.chronobis.com for more information or to download.

Thanks to all of those who helped out so far with testing!

Enjoy,

Re: Chronobis (OWA Sync) is now available for Free

It doesn't do anything with mail at this time, it synchronizes your calendar information from Outlook Web Access (OWA) to your Pocket Outlook calendar on your phone.

This program uses OWA and not the Outlook Mobile Access (OMA) that the built in Exchange client uses. This means if you can access OWA, you can synchronize your calendar.

I wrote this because my company, and lots of others, have a policy in place that blocks access to OMA, thereby blocking access to Windows Mobile devices.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Actually it is Activesync that WM uses and not OMA. OMA is basically a stripped-down version of Outlook Web Access (OWA) and should work from any cell phone with browser capability (inc. WM devices, although not much point in using it on them since they support a native mail app and can sync using Activesync). OMA is not used for synchronization. People often get Activesync and OMA confused.

Microsoft has discontinued OMA as of Exchange 2007.

Re: Chronobis (OWA Sync) is now available for Free

Thanks for pointing this out, however it doesn't change the basic premise. The IT administrators disable mobile synchronization, rendering the ActiveSync client on the mobile device useless (it can still synchronize to a PC, but not directly to the server).

Here is a detailed look at how this works (for anyone interested):

Thanks,

Re: Chronobis (OWA Sync) is now available for Free

Thanks. After tinkering with the domain and userid settings, I have it working. Very nice...
