Re: New bing mobile

They seemed to remove the "Bird's Eye" view. That's the only point to using Bing Maps instead of Google Maps. Damnit! Or am I missing something...

Re: New bing mobile

I love this new bing cab. I have a question are there any other apps that are like the bing where you can talk and it will find stuff for you??? I love how you can say something and it will find it for you with address and phone number and all. I'm on a stock sprint and this works great

there is tellme (voice-to-text) ... which uses the same lookup service as the new bing from what i can tell ... however, that is win6.5 only i think.

Re: New bing mobile

Wow. I like the interface... except for the reaaaaaaaaaaaally slow and non-informative scrolling... I can't tell where I'm at in lists, and it's really slow.

On top of that the absolute best feature ever is missing... gas prices. WTF!?

Not very often that I say this about a Microsoft product, but I'm going to stick with the previous release.

Re: New bing mobile

As far as I'm concerned, they just broke Bing.

Ever since I realized I could use my voice to input the destination instead of fidgeting with typing on a traditional GPS system, Bing has become my primary in-dash GPS navigation system.

Sure, it doesn't speak turn-by-turn like some *other* navigators, but it does give audible alerts (mostly beeps and chimes), and shows you how long until the next turn on maps that are always up to date. In my opinion, the turn-by-turn navigation mixed with voice recognition is the sole reason Bing was worth having on *EVERY* Windows Phone. The interface was honestly kind of frustrating, but the features made it worth using.

Well, it looks like MS fixed the one thing wrong with it- the UI- but removed the only reasons I wanted to use it!

Where's my GPS-driven turn-by-turn routing? Where's my recently searched items (I have to enter my address every time unless I save it as a favorite? WTF?!)?

This version is a great big FAIL.
I'd rather use Google Maps than this. And for GPS routing, I'll have to either go back to the old version or buy something like TomTom or iGo

I also can't seem to get the Bing Update to go. I have tried several ways including the windows marketplace.
