help- windows 6.1 today home screen (no touchflo)

hey sorry for the noobie question here, i have just switched from a treo800w to the tp2.

i turned off touch flo and am running the basic winmo interface, however, it seems as if the today screen on my treo(with win6.1) allowed me to customize alot more than the tp2.

on the treo i could put the quick dialer and contact search directly on the home screen, as well as direct links to the comm manager(to turn bluetooth and wifi on and off with 1 click) and it embedded the instant messenger program as well to see how many messages and friends i have online.

i cant seem to do any of this on the tp2, are there any solutions?
