I just saw you were trying to copy over a manila file, so I thought I'd help you with that much anyway.
As far as editing the file to not display your carrier name.
What rom are you on?
Have you tried the Co0kie Mod, it has the option to write in whatever you want for the carrier name.
There are other ways to change it as well.
What did you edit in the manila file?
If you left the carrier name blank, it will fill it back in automatically.
Try using a space, or your name or something and see if it changes for you then.

Good Luck!

Hi Santod
I'm using Energy Rom March 3 MaxManila version
I'm absolutely new to this. What I'm trying to accomplish is NOT to remove the Carrier but CHANGE it from Verizon Wireless to HTC Touch Pro II by editing the file 7c60907d_manila I do not know where in the Manila file that I should type in HTC Touch Pro II to make it show on the home screen.
