You have your quicklinks too close to your tasks or appointments. This is an autohide feature. Check in you edit layout mode and you will see they need to be moved apart just a lttle more.

I missed your post yesterday and just read it. Thanks for the help that fixed my problem. The lock icon was not showing either but when I moved the quicklinks down the lock icon now shows so you fixed two problems for me
