Finding good icons is the hardest part of making a slider. If you find some good icons I'll make a slider, or help you if you want to learn to make it. It's really not that hard with cfcgui. Just scale images correctly and click "replace with" 68 or so times. If you want to make it yourself, you just need cfcgui and a good editor (I use GIMP 2).

i am retired (disability retirement) from the Navy, so i would love to see a Navy theme developed.

F@#k yeah, I was 1589 (calibration) but my ship shut down the Cal-Lab right when I got there. I ended up in Radar/Metro working on SMQ-11, SPS-64, AN/SPA-25G, etc... along with flight deck, master at arms, divisional DCPO, and I am a Shellback and ESWS. I'm not sure there was anything that I didn't do when I was in.

That picture in my sig is one I took on the flight deck landing a CH-46 from HC-2 "Desert Ducks" during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

I've been looking for Icons to make a military slider. Problem is finding good ones to fit categories. I'll keep looking.

I got the taps and the hymn but im having issues finding a clear call to attention and at ease. I have a feeling im going to have to try and make those two myself.

Here's the attention that I have....I have full version for Marine's Hymn, Grand Ole Flag and a bunch other stuff that I've saved for ceremonies...but they're the full song...need to take audacity to it and chop it down to size.

I'll find some icons and upload the files to here...so we can get some slider action. I have a few walls that I can contribute as well.

Oh, most if not all are Marine related...active duty here!

So maybe rather then try and find icons for a slider that are appropriate, maybe it would almost be easier to make some for it.
I haven't found any that were very good in my searches so far.

Here's a preview I came up with after much searching.
This is obviously not complete, so some tabs would need to be changed to be more visible or appropriate, and some would need to be added.
If this look is acceptable to others, I can make up the rest of the needed icons.
At that point I can pass them off to you Wahlrus, if you wanna put the slider together. Or I can finish it too, just let me know.

So keep the feedback coming guys. ;)

I like the look of the slider. If we can at least use the flags icon for the home icon and possibly the di hat for the settings icon I think that would be amazing

the drill instructor cover (hat) icon is in the .rar that i attached...i can look for and upload a couple of icons of flags later tonight....if i can't find them..i shld be able to find a picture and resize it down...and possibly change it into a .pnglP

I guess what I meant was, I was trying to figure out what to use for each respective tab. I guess I wasn't think of making ones like these. For example, I was trying to figure out what from the Corps would correspond to call history? Like the old VHF backpack radios or something. I think the style you made would be good for a military theme.

I gotcha! No problem. I understand what you mean.
I am just proposing we can use whatever images we want and make them into icons, they don't necessarily have to already be icons.
That's all I was really suggesting.
So, basically, I'd be happy to make the icons from whatever images we want, but they should all be of a similar style or aesthetic.
I'm open to whatever is wanted by those who will use the theme.

So, I guess the best thing is for us to collectively come up with images for each respective tab then. I agree it's not entirely easy to find appropriate ones. But I'm sure we can eventually come up with one for each tab.

What do you think about these for slider? The rope border is from the Marine Corps Emblem. If this style is good for all I'll continue.

I reread my comment about santod being on top of this and realized it came off kind off pissy like. Didn't mean it that way. I just don't have a whole lot of time to devote to modding lately and saw that santod was doing some good work on this already. If Santod takes care of the clock and slider, i'll get the rest of the home screen done. Just camo it up a bit. I'll start on that now. Maybe i can get it done before i go to bed.

I don't have wince cab manager anymore so some will need to cab this up or you guys can just extract and drop in your windows folder. This will replace most of the home screen stuffs with camo. I had to go with a darker camo so the fonts would still show up. I really wanted the lighter shades of brown but i had to go with the greens instead. So try this out and post a screen shot for everyone. Should look good. I add more stuff later to this. Off to bed for now.

Thanks for the effort.
It appears there may be some images missing, but I will install and see what we got.
But just from looking at it, you may be missing part of the calendar date bar in there.
Anyhow, I have cabbed those file, so nobody has to overwrite their files, without being able to easily restore the defaults.

Edit: I did leave out the "pressed" button images intentionally. I find it's better to let those stay with the default gray.

Nope, that got all of the panels on the home screen except for the curtains. Looks pretty good, even without the matching clock. I'm gonna look for a lighter camo to use as the wallpaper and am playing around with a few other ideas. I'll post a screen shot soon. I also have some ideas for the slider but not sure if I will get to that tonight. I am a perfectionist when it comes to the alignment of sliders so it always takes me a few hours to get it just right.

EDIT: I have a sample of the correct woodland digital camo now so I will replace it with that and I'm gonna go back to the drawing board on the wallpaper.

I decided to make a new crimson button, I think it looks much more Marine Corps. I'm still looking for a few more images.

It does seem a bit much red, especially that large on the PC screen and so close together.
It may not be so bad actually on the phone, but that's why I had gone with the gunmetal borders in my initial preview slider image.
It tends to be more neutral and can match other clocks if the user wanted to change it. I figured we could have several clock options, for both analog and flip.

I'll load these on my phone tomorrow and take some screen shots. I can finish a set with the original white I was using and we'll just see which one looks better. I don't mind, I think I need the practice.

Good call Santod, might not look so bad when its on a smaller scale. Waiting to see the SS. I get off at 4 and I plan to redo the home screen panels with the correct camo. It's all starting to come together.

I like the red buttons...but I think it'll really depend on how it looks installed on the phone.

Might I suggest using the CURRENT camouflage patterns (the digital MARPAT) for the background and the weather background? Maybe a matching singular color for the top and bottom taskbar?

Here are some screenshots of the crimson buttons on the phone with a digital cammo background and the cammo home accents cab installed. I didn't replace everything, but you get the gist. I think they look ok, but if everyone else wants crimson buttons I'm going to change some of the center images. I really wanted to come up with a Marine Corpse themed image to correspond to everything (like bugle for music), but I think it'll be ok to just but the normal manila image on the button.

I just notice the large Globe/Anchor looks cut off on the ss, but it's fine on the device.

I like the crimson slider I think it would look great with the digital marlant and the ega clock. this is turning out to be an awsome theme guys thank you.

and jason I went away from the digital clock on the home screen because I got one in the corner anyway but I realy like that digital clock you have there.

ok so here is a question. The slider that santod posted earlier in this thread. Is there anyway to get that boarder around the quicklinks.

Ya, that's pretty easy. Santod should be able to do that in just a few minutes.

Also, I had an idea for the slider. What if you had a black border in there something like this.

I whiped that out pretty quick so the quality is pretty low but I think the concept would look a bit better.

Edit, I forgot to resave it after I added the gold between the black and red rings. I was more or less just trying to duplicate the look of the clock graphic without it saying marines on every icon.

ok so I tried the other day to record the sliding keyboard sounds the way i was picturing them to sound. And yea I have been out too long and dont have the voice for them anymore. I like the bugle for the hymn and taps as far as ringer and txt. but I wanted the actual call for attention and either at ease or rest for keyboard. So if any of you guys are still active duty or still have the voice can you get a clip of those to commands for me please.

One more thing before I go to bed and repost after repost here all night. Are we going to do a theme for all branch's of service? If so can we rename the thread to Honoring our Men and Women of the service when we get a couple of them done. I am not sure if that is something I can do or not also with those working on this I would like to ask for your permission that when the themes are done I place them in the first post with thanks from all of you working on them and encourage anyone that is downloading them to thank you as well.
