do you know which registry key enables the system sound?

I think I screwed up something and the speaker doesn't work for applications, it does work for calls even the speaker phone doesn't work.

I tried audiopara3, checked all settings and still no sound.

Are there any registry tweaks to make my internet connection more stable while tethering? I'm having trouble online racing with dropping the connection for a few seconds at a time. My Alltel touch pro never had a problem. Since I got the Verizon TP2, I've had the trouble.
