Re: Cookie Home Tab Mod (March 7th version 1.6.1)

I'm running the NRGZ28 23544 Co0kie Home Tab mod for the Imagio and I love that this mod is cooked in. However, every time I've backed up with the CHTEditor and tried to import the settings after a flash every single link is pointing to a different person. Programs usually do okay but contact links are totally different. Any ideas?

I will look into that. My first guess would be, that, if your number of total links is different, then when exported, that it assigns them in a different order, as per page layout. So, you may wanna try, after fresh install, manually setting the number of links, to what they were, when you exported last. Then import your settings. This may or may not resolve that for you. If not, I will look into it some, later tonight.

This mod is so cool I don't really mind although I'm now flashing fairly often so it would be cool if it works. To be honest, I'm not sure I followed your last post.

I'm glad you don't mind, as it is still much easier to import thrm all, and just move them around, then to add them all individually, as we once had to do, before the mod.

As far as what I said in my earlier post.

If you export your settings, with say, 4x4 quicklink setting (16 per page), then after installing fresh again, you should adjust the layout to match your previous layout (4x4) or whatever it was set at, when you exported. Then import your settings and it seems it would fill the links appropriately then.
Regardless, I don't think it's too much to do, to drag the icons where you want them once imported. But I would suggest you try my idea above and see if that helps any.

Santod, Hi!! I have a question for you......... I'm currently using Co0kie's Home Tab v 1.6.1 and CHTEditor 1.6.1 ..... what's the difference between the Editor and the advanced home tab v 1.6.1..... and can you use them all together?? Thanks!

Thanks for replying! Have you actually installed them all yourself? I've finally got my phone set up (I have the home tab and editor) and am scared to mess it up

Correct, the Advanced Home Tab adds the small clock, with the weather beside it. It is a modification of the home tab layout.
The editor is what you use to adjust your settings.

If you choose to install the advanced home tab, I recommend using the one I posted a few pages back, specifically for 1.6.1 Co0kie Home Tab Mod.
HERE is the link to it.
This is how it looks.

I just flashed NRG's March 16 Rom with this mod. It defaults to 4x. All I did was import, and I was right back to where I was (5x5).

Not sure what you are trying to say.
I was simply suggesting for those who are importing, and having their contacts, not assigned to the same quick link spot as when they saved. That they first set the number of quick links, to what they had, when they saved. Then, import and see if the contacts all end up where they were before.
