Ummm, lets just call it intuition, LOL!
You might say I've had my hand in the Co0kie jar, since the beginning.

Co0kie is my friend, lets just say that much! ;-)
You may or may not have also have noticed,
that my name is in the list of Beta Testers in my first post in this thread.

seeing your name on the beta list and figuring you play a supporting role in this mod is why i ask my questions here rather than the thread on xda...also cuz santod is da man n very helpful so chances are if he can help answer he will where as it might get lost in the other thread

also thanks for sorting out my previous questions bout the clock array and update as well as the idea of its own path that differs from max

co0kie does a good job of answering questions too on xda, just seems like it takes longer for him to get back cuz that thread seems hammered from all other devices over the world, its a lot more personal here :)

Exactly why I do it.
Co0kie's thread gets hammered very hard at XDA.
Over 20,000 downloads at XDA, of just 1.5.4 alone.
I figure if I can relieve some of the questions that come from that and at the same time provide more personal and immediate responses for the users here in our community, it should benefit those who frequent here.

Will the settings export/import work ok between 1.6 and 1.6.1 ?

Update 7-Mar-2010:
Version 1.6.1 released.

Bug fixes, small additions and changes:

-[new] hide and auto hide appointments
-[new] added more appointments indicator for main view
-[fixed] call history related bugs (rounded edge, overlap)
-[fixed] date button now always shows month view in calendar tab
-[fixed] removed side scroll animation from animation level 0
-[fixed] corrected quick links scrolling in landscape

Settings changes:
The DynamicNotifications setting has been thrown out - in it's place there are:

Co0kie.ShowCallHistory
0 - always hide
1 - always show
2 - auto hide/show (default)

Co0kie.ShowAppointments
0 - always hide -- don't show any appointments or calendar text in main view
1 - always show (default)
2 - auto hide/show -- show appointments, but hide calendar text

Co0kie.AutoHideQuickLinks --- if more than 2 appointments
0 or 1 --- 0 default

Notes on some changes:

-[new] added more appointments indicator for main view
Until now there was always a small arrow below the quick links in main view. It pointed up or down but was mostly useless.
I've changed its function: From now on this arrow will only be shown if there are more appointments then can fit in main view. This will let you know that there are more appointments to be viewed by swiping down.

Yes sir! :)
All versions of the CHT Editor, from 1.6 on, are intended to be futureproof, for this purpose.
I have had no issues with importing settings saved from 1.6 Editor into the new 1.6.1 Editor.
You may have a switch or two you will wanna change after, due to some of the new settings, but most changes will take effect as expected, including all your quick link assignments. :thumbleft:

I'm assuming we uninstall 1.6 before installing 1.6.1. I don't use the CHT Editor at this point but should probably download it and check it out. I'm sure it's top quality stuff. If I'm not using CHT Editor when I install 1.6.1 will I keep all my shortcuts in my current configuration?

For exporting and importing Quicklink assignments, and for all other changes really. I strongly suggest using the supplied CHT Editor.

You should definitely uninstall the old version and soft reset before installing the new one.

If you really wanna back up your current quicklink assignments, it can be done manually.
However the simplest thing, would be to just install the corresponding version # Editor, soft reset and do an export of your settings,
Then uninstall the older Co0kie Mod and Editor and soft reset.

Then install the new Co0kie Mod, soft reset. Then the new Editor, soft reset once again. Then import the saved file you exported in the Editor, to apply your old settings.
This sounds like a lot, but it's not. It only seems so, because you did not already have the last editor installed yet.

You will find it gives many benefits, and makes using the Mod much better and simpler, in my opinion. Plus you can easily change your carrier text on the top left of screen inside the editor.
Many easy changes can be made, just by tapping a switch, just like in your Comm Manager. Then just tap > Menu > Apply > Exit. It restarts HTC Sense for you and applies your new settings.
