yea same here...I already had my phone configured on copper rom and had my weather displayed then I decided to add a panel for Opera...that's where it went downhill..followed the steps to the T and it doesnt work...I'm thinking it has to do with some of the things I have disabled. I had music, photos, calender, and appointments disabled since I barely use these settings before I attempted to add the Opera panel. After I did all the steps...all it did was removed the titanium weather from the screen...now I can't even enable alll the things I disabled using both chrome and titanium customizer..

It does work. Which version of Titanium Weather do you have? Exactly what steps did you take to add a panel? I have reflashed my phone 4 times in the last couple of weeks and performed at least that many hard resets. I do the EXACT steps outlined in post number 2 each time and get my panels set up without a hitch. I know many other people have got this to work too. Your Music, Photos, Calendar, and Appointments panel being disabled will have no effect on your new panels. There has to be some detail or step you're missing along the way.

I'm using the latest version of Titanium Weather v.3a..I hard reset my phone yesterday and just installed everything yesterday. okay here's the steps I did...I installed all my normal programs after a hard reset. Then I installed Titanium Weather 3a as the steps indicated on the first page and then installed titanium customizer and chrome customizer as well... everything still fine..then I opened up titanium customizer and disabled some items: music, photo, email, calander, and windows live. Have everything set up the way i wanted with just phone, voicemail, time, titanium weather, text message, and favorites. So come today I figured i'll try and add Opera using the "Clinks" method. I disabled titanium and followed the instructions on the first page and after the cpr files was copied to the windows folder, I soft reset the device. phone loaded up again...I enabled titanium and now titanium weather is gone and all that is displayed now is phone, voicemail, time, text, and favorites. it shows up in titanium customizer and chrome customizer as enabled already but it doesnt show up...now I can't even enable any of the original items like music and photos back....

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

The titanium customizer just changes registry entries, so you might have to go in and do that manually if it won't enable the panels again. We'll get to that after we get your new panels up and running. I personally don't use that program, so I may have to take a look at that tonight. As far as Titanium Weather and your Opera panel not showing up, go to your registry and check HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\ExtensibilityXML and make sure both titaniumweather (with no space) and clinks are in the list. If they are not, you will have to add them in with the rest of the existing panels. Check that and let me know what you find.

Thanks for putting this together Hafrust!

Maybe I missed this but I would love to be able to see that I have a calendar appointment without scrolling to that panel. 6.1 smartphones really had nice panels and the calendar would give you some info even if you didnt have it selected.

I also thought i saw on xda a 4 in 1 tab but cant find it, basically it combined missed calls, vmail, email, and texts, can anyone point me in the direction of this info? Maybe its just a preset panel changed up?

oh...I thought u used titanium customizer too since it was in the first post with all the other things...maybe the 2 are conflicting with each other? I'll experiment a bit and see if I can fix it...okay I just checked the extensibilityxml and both titaniumweather CLinks are in there...I think im going to uninstall titanitum customizer to see if it fixes it...

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

Yeah...I did at first, but got really used to just changing stuff directly in the registry, so I haven't used it in a while. JD is releasing a new ROM tonight and I'll be flashing again, so I'll play around with Titanium Customizer a bit and see if I can duplicate that issue. I really don't think that was causing it though.

There's nothing like that with the calendar that I've seen yet, but I wouldn't say it's outside the realm of possibility. As far as the 4 in 1 panel is concerned, I've seen the one you're talking about and I believe someone is working on converting it so it will work on 6.5. Showaco and Drkfngthdragnlrd are working on a way to add new panels with cab files using a new GUID and mortscript to update the cpr files. That will get rid of all of the nonsense we currently have to go through to do it. It will get a lot easier to customize.

ok does it matter if I already had titanium weather installed and I used the cpr files in the second post and replaced the ones in the windows folder have any kind of effect with the weather and panel I created not to show up??

It shouldn't matter...did you have a chance to check hklm\software\microsoft\chome\extensibilityxml to make sure titaniumweather and clinks are listed?

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

lol...aww man, you didn't have to do that! we could've got it working. Do you mind testing something for me when you go through the setup this time though? Install Titanium Weather v3, and then go through the steps for adding your panel. Don't copy the .cpr files though. I was looking at them a little while ago and I think the cpr file that is written with the v3 weather cab is pretty much the same as the one I have posted. If that's the case, that will eliminate a step.

Go ahead and download the cpr files and copy them to your windows directory. After that, soft reset. Edit....hold on, before you do that I have another idea.

I changed clinks to "show" in chome configurator and added clinks to the extensibilityxml in the registry, but it still didn't show on the home page. What I did to fix it is go back into chome configurator, add a collapsed name (there was none since it is no longer "launcher") and also added another new page. Once I did that, the panel was displayed on the home screen.

This is from an earlier post in the thread. Try what I have in bold.

I had Titanium Weather 2.1 and got the launcher panel when I installed it. I then added some apps using the Customizer and everything was OK until I updated to Weather 3.1a and then I lost the launcher panel and couldn't figure how to get it back. I went back to Weaather 2.1 and now have the launcher back.

Any way to update the Weather app and keep the launcher?

it's not problem at all...I'm glad we got it working now..this information should help a lot of people...don't forget to mention that if you already have Titanium Weather 3a installed then extracting the cpr to the /windows folder is not needed if you want to add a panel...

When you upgrade to weather 3.1, the weather no longer uses the CLinks panel. Therefore, it is rendered inactive. What you need to do to re-enable it is go to CHome Configurator, select CLinks, tap menu>panel>customize. Then in the "Collapsed" field, type in whatever name you want to appear on the home screen for this panel. Once you exit and save, go to your registry at HKLM\software\microsoft\chome\extensibilityxml and add clinks to the list. Soft reset and it should be fine. If it still doesn't show up, follow the instructions I posted a few posts up in bold font about adding a new page in clinks and making sure the "collapsed" field has something in it.

Got that too. Thanks for testing that for me. I bet that once you go in to CLinks initially to add the custom pages, if you add the "Collapsed" field then, it won't be an issue like you had once you add it back to the registry and all. I think that's what I initially did and didn't have a problem. I'll test that after I flash.

when i want to add a new tab with clinks, it says that i need to drop the cpr files attached in the windows folder but they are vga 480x640

is there ones i can use for a qvga device??

sorry if its a dumb q or if it has been answered...

Hafrust 04-15-2009 11:13 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

There are some qvga cpr's floating around that would work, but I have no idea what version of titanium weather they have information for, so that may mess something up on your weather panel if you have that installed. If you do have a version of mnemonique's qvga weather installed, which one is it and I'll try to get the appropriate cpr's posted in the morning.

im using that one exactly

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...light=titanium

with default icons to be exact...

but the weather shows fine, im asking for the cpr for the new tabs i plan to add for contacts, launcher etc. using your methods with clinks/settings etc.

but i dont want it to mess with the weather if thats what you mean

thanx

Hafrust 04-15-2009 11:28 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

The reason I asked about the weather is that the layout of all of these panels is found in the .cpr files, and I didn't want you to copy cpr files that didn't have the correct layout for your version of weather, thus leaving it screwed up. Are you using version 3 of his weather? I'll post an updated version in the morning if no one else has by then. It would be helpful if you could zip and attach your Titanium_240x320.cpr and Titanium_320x240.cpr files. Alternatively, you could take the VGA cpr files I have posted, convert the numbers for qvga, then copy your weather section in your cpr's over the weather section in the vga ones.

Edit: I'm getting off of here for the night, but I'll check this first thing in the morning and get on that for you.

Try these. I used the files posted by myshinynewtouch here, took out the testuiplugin layout that was used in the older version of weather, and added in mnemonique's weather layout. Let me know if it doesn't work correctly and I'll take a closer look at it.

Once showaco releases this, I'm going to have this thread closed b/c it will be obsolete. :) To avoid any confusion, a new thread has been created for discussion of his new program. You can find that thread here.

Here is an exerpt from his thread at XDA:

Quote:

Ok, I got tired of waiting for someone to make a chome editor to take care of editing panels without a registry editor. I should have something releasable(beta version) by tomorrow night. I learning to program as I go, so I'm a little slow. Here's what I have after 2 or 3 hrs tonight. It reads registry to give list of plugins, it will list all plugins that should be editable, including any new custom panels you've created. It then reads the pages when panel is chosen, and available values when page is chosen. Registry editiing is working. Here's some screenshots, don't worry about graphics, layout, etc., 'cause I haven'thttp://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/wink.gif. That can be made pretty next week, for now we just need a tool that does it all.

http://www3.mediafire.com/imgbnc.php...f20e6a216g.jpg

I plan on making it where you can add pages, and even panels in the next few days.
