Great add-on. Dreaming of having it on my pocket pc now. Is there a WM 6.5 ROM works on HP iPAQ hx2750? Thanks.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

I've managed to get a working "contacts panel" by canibalizing the "Launcher panel". I was also able to finally add a working "programs panel" by canibalizing the "cwelcome panel", however this panel will not display "programs" in the list - it's just blank. I've gone through the instructions step by step and can't seem to figure it out.

The icons that were cutoff before are now scaling/sized perfectly and I'm pretty close to where I want to be as I just made the "programs panel" the first panel on my list so it doesn't really screw up my today screen. I just know it's there if I need it but that's not ideal for the long term if I can figure it out.

Thanks for all the help.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications

I am having the same issues mentioned earlier.

I did the following:
1. used the procedure to add with CLinks.
2. I used an application launcher template
3. selected the application, exited properly saving the configuration
4. added Clinks in the right order to the proper registery entry
5. copied the 2 cpr files to the windows directory
6. reset
7. Titanium weather disappeared & Clinks does not show.

I went back to be sure everything was saved & it is all still there.

Any ideas what I have done wrong?

FYI....showaco has posted an Opera panel cab that is in testing stages. Check it out here. I'm not going to post the cab since it's still listed as "for testing". I installed it on my phone and it works fine, but it has not been tested on all versions of Opera. I linked screenshots to post #3.

Tried this but it wiped my Titanium Weather panel.

Gonna hard reset and see if it works from a fresh build.

Thanks for keeping this post up to date Hafrust:mrgreen:

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

All of the information for CLinks should still be there, you just have to enable the panel again in CHome Configurator and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\ExtensibilityXML.

In CHome Configurator, when you select CLinks, and tap Menu>panel>customize, are all of your pages still there?

You're positive you are adding the name "CLinks" in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\ExtensibilityXML, and not in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\DefaultXML? I will hard reset and see if i can duplicate that problem when I get home from work this evening.

What I suggest is opening one of them in notepad, click your mouse so the cursor is at the very top of the document, press ctrl f to open the "find" window, type in cwelcomecenter condensed, and it should take you to the first occurence of that term. You should see what you need to change not too far below that. Do the same thing for the cwelcomecenter expanded and operatorservices expanded sections. Repeat the process in the other document.

Alternatively, you could just download the .cpr files I have in post 1 and copy them into your phones windows directory. The appropriate changes have already been made in them.

Thanks a lot. I was stuck on the icon problem and this got me through it. This whole thread is great. I think you do need to edit the CPRs from your device after you install the weather plugin. If you copy the ones from the post 1, it fixes the icons but removes the plugin from Today.

if anyone wants to give this a try, i made a few posts on the copper thread that might make things easier:

i've used this method after flashing at least 3 times and it's worked flawlessly every time (i flash quite often ;))

Did you alter your cpr files as described for qvga in that thread? If you are missing icons, there has to be something wrong with your cpr's.

Did you get this working? I hard reset and was able to duplicate your problem. I started out installing weather v2 and added some pages to it, then installed weather v3. I changed clinks to "show" in chome configurator and added clinks to the extensibilityxml in the registry, but it still didn't show on the home page. What I did to fix it is go back into chome configurator, add a collapsed name (there was none since it is no longer "launcher") and also added another new page. Once I did that, the panel was displayed on the home screen.

This is the exact problem i was having that made me give up. I see this may work so i will try again. Strra motivated me to try again because his came out so nice. All i want is opera and beejive in the launcher. What would be the best way to do this since there are 3 different install options?

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

Personally, I would recommend installing the Opera panel (see post 3), and then I would either use the CLinks or CWelcomeCenter to set up a programs panel. If you don't want Opera to have it's own panel, just skip that and add Opera as one of your programs. If you were having problems with CLinks, try CWelcomeCenter. You can either post any questions you have or pm me if anything comes up.

i would use this opera but i don't like how the home page displays xda developers. i wish it would just say launch opera, and then take me to my desired homepage. with that one i can't change the panel display and it keeps taking me to xda even though i have changed my home page. I know that panel is designed to go to that page but i couldn't figure out how to change that.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

It imports your favorite's from opera and those are the links it displays in the opera panel. If you haven't already, tap "import" when the panel is highlighted.

oh ok i get it. the reason it isn't working for me is because i don't think it plays nice with my opera, which opera version are you using? whenever i click on import my phone messes up. i use opera 15613.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

I am using version 9.5 build 15445. I think showaco is working on getting it compatible with some of the newer beta versions. Try going to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\Opera\Page1 and change the the part of the ACTIONURL from xda's url to your website's url. That may work, if it's not overridden somewhere else.

Edit: That does work, but keep in mind that the only thing that was changed is the action url, everything else will still be displayed as it was before. Just a possible temporary workaround until a new version is released.

thanks hafrust but i just realized i'm going to have to man up and figure out how to create these panels otherwise i will never be happy. Especially since i want to create a panel for opera by itself with my extra pages and then a launcher panel for 2 or 3 programs. i might as well get started.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

I have no problems adding applications to a new Panel. The problem I'm having is trying to find the right icon for them. I've used a template to add SlingPlayer Mobile. But there is no icon that I can find. Perhaps I'm adding it wrong.

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

How to Add a Panel Using "CLinks"
This is the quickest, easiest way to make a custom panel because you aren't really creating a new one altogether, rather than just customizing an existing one.
Open CHome Configurator, highlight CLinks, and tap Menu>Panel>Customize.
Using the various templates within CHome Configurator, create all of the pages you want to be available for this panel.
On the main screen in CHome Configurator, highlight CLinks and tap "Show" (left soft key). Exit the program through Menu>Exit to make sure your changes are saved.
In your registry, go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\ExtensibilityXML. You will need to add CLinks to the list in the location you want it to be displayed.
Extract the .cpr files that are attached in the .zip file to your \windows folder on your phone. Soft reset.

DID THAT TO SET UP THE CONTACTS, ADDED A NEW PAGES FOR ALL 8 OF EM & SAVED, THEN ACTIVATED CLINKS, CHANGED THE REGISTRY AND COPIED THE FILES, STILL NOTHING FOR MY CONTACTS, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

TheDude1120 04-15-2009 01:48 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

nvm @ hafrust, got the contacts to work, i had the wrong directions lol

just one last question, how do i capatalize the first letter of each tab? right now the speeddial is the only one that is capitalized and when i go in the extensibilityxml, its already capitalized, how can i fix this?

Hafrust 04-15-2009 01:59 PM

Re: CHome/Titanium Modifications - Adding Panels

I don't think you can change the other ones very easily, if at all. What is listed in extensibilityxml isn't the text that appears on the today screen. When you go into CHome configurator and tap on CLinks, then menu>panel>customize, you'll see at the top a field titled "Collapsed". Whatever shows in that field will be what is displayed on the today screen. Since all panels can't be edited using chome configurator, you'd have to go and manually edit the collapsed name elsewhere. I just made all of my custom ones lower case to match cause I'm lazy.

I think you might be overcomplicating it a bit. It really is easy, I promise. :) You can create a new panel to open whatever program you want, so if you don't want to use showaco's cab version you don't have to. I'm not sure what you mean by "not a launcher" because that is essentially what all these panels are. They all launch something. I think where you may be getting confused is how there was a panel titled "launcher" when you used titanium weather v2. All that "launcher" panel you are referring to was, was the CLinks panel. If you've updated to version 3 of titanium weather, it does not utilize the CLinks panel.

I don't recall seeing a slingplayer icon included in that package, so it's something you'd have to create/find and add.
