default sounds

Hey Colonel, I'm trying to either remove/change that default alert sound on your rom...it sounds like the alarm2.wav to me...but can't find whats calling it. changed the HKCU/control panel/notifications/default value to something else, but I guess thats not it. any hints here?
thanks

Re: colonels custom rom?

Sounds like it should be. As another test, change the name of a different .wav file to Alarm2.wav and copy it to \windows. Then reset and see if the new sound plays.

default sound

hm...weird. copied another and overwrote Alarm2.wav in /windows;
it does play the new sound for that same event (whatever that event is),
and...the registry entry still shows the wav file I changed it to earlier which is a totally different file. that was the only reg entry I found from a dump that referenced Alarm2.wav.

SOOO...this will accomplish what I wanted to anyways now. thank you sir.

Re: colonels custom rom?

Did a search for Error Notification, but found nothing.

With your ROM colonel, I am occaisionally getting Popup error windows.

"Notification Error: Cannot Execute Tskschedule.exe"
"Notification Error: Cannot Execute CalcNot.exe"
"Notification Error: Cannot Execute ReplLog.exe"

Or something like that. Im trying to remember these from memory. I was gonna screenshot them, but apparently Im not familiar with the buttons like I should be. Wasn't sure what "App3" button was.

Thanks

if you havent changed any default button mappings (under Settings, Personal, buttons) then button 3 (or app 3) is the Comm manager button. I dont think screenshots would help much in this situation, the colonel knows what these errors look like I'm sure.
as far as what caused them...
