We do not tire of noobs asking questions, we may, however, tire of people not trying to figure things out on their own, which you seem to have done. Which means you are still in our favor.

Perhaps you may want to consider installing a new rom. You can first try going to the HTC website and downloading their official ROM update and see if that fixes the problem. If that does not work, we can help you with unlocking your phone and going the custom rom route. Let us know.

Many thanks, Ayato. I just went to the HTC website and downloaded the Rom Update Utility for the current ROM update. The problem is that because it is stuck in this bootloader screen, my phone will not sync with my computer. They both seem to recognize the connection because the phone shows "usb" and the computer says it "found new hardware," but the computer does not seem to recognize it as my phone (as it used to) and active sync does not establish a connection. Is there another way to do this? Thanks again.

You should be able to flash from the tricolor bootloader screen without securing an ActiveSync connection. Simply try to follow through with the ROM Update Utility's instructions anyway and see what happens. If you can't, then I will see if I can find the drivers you need to install.

Thanks btonetbone. When I start up the utility, it says that it is checking the information on the device and then I get this message:

ERROR [260]: Connection
The Update Utility cannot connect to your PDA Phone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your PDA Phone.

Try installing this and it should give your computer the drivers needed to update your ROM from the bootloader screen.

Thanks again. I seem to have traded one problem for another. Some how my phone decided to come out of the bootloader screen, but I still can't connect to my PC. It charges through the USB, but the PC says it cannot recognize it or the device has malfunctioned....I'm searching for a solution to this now, but any tips would be appreciated.

Strike that. I just did a soft reset to try and troubleshoot the USB connection issue, but I landed back in the bootloader screen. I tried unloading the drivers suggested by btonetbone, but thaat didn't solve it. It seems strange that I could sync wwit my computer fine for months and then all of a sudden I get all of these problems. I hsve not made and changes, installed any programs etc.

If that didn't work, you will probably have to use an SD card. Did you read how to flash with one in the guides?

Did you change any settings in activestync?
I had a simillar problem and had to un-install and re-install AS.
That fixed my connection problem but cleared all the installed application info for the PPC.
So I now keep a folder on external HDD with "After Flash" data in it.
When in bootloader, unpluged, do you see "serial" on the ppc screen? When you plug it in, it should change to "USB".
I thought the unlocker requires that you dissable AS.

OK, I read back a few. Try pluging in the earbuds or the charger, then hit the soft reset button.
This happened to me when I flashed a bad ROM/Radio mix.
And I also agree with others, SD card is the best way to flash. No telling when the "Blue Screen of Death" will show it's ugly text.

okay, im stumped. i figured this was a good place to put this, but please forgive me for being a noob. i just need my phone to work again. i figured that you all on this site will be able to help me the most. i have the sprint mogul by htc. im on the red, green, blue, and white screen. activesync doesnt detect it. it is connected to mtty. i was just sitting in the car and the screen would not turn on so i attempted to soft reset and now i can either get it into this screen or the splash screen and thats it. when its on the splash screen it shows no radio in red letters. i have no idea what to do and ive been searching for a week and a half. that is the only reason i am posting here. can anyone help me? i went to the htc site to get the stock rom like ive been reading about but i have to use activesync and thats not working.

Re: Stuck in TITAN bootloader? Read this!

I have read most of this thrad buy my problem seems to be just getting the exit boot loader to work due to it thinking WMDC is still active with USB connections...

My PC: Windows Vista
Phone: VX-6800
Carrier: VZW
I used the OliPro 2.40 and everything worked perfect until i got to the end to exit bootloader. Phone is stuck on the rainbow, shows OliPro 2.40, however every time i try any of the exit bootloader programs it advises unable to connect, make sure I have disabled USB in WMDC, which I have, and make sure USB cable is connected correctly, which I also have. The only other problem I see if while WMDC has usb disabled the phone is still be detected by VISTA and showing up in device manager under mobile devies at HTC USB Device or whatever. Any help will be appreciated. I tried the one thread that stated to end the two wcesXXXX processes and rigp or whatever but still no luck.

thanks
