Re: Windows 6.5 Titan

With 21815, I noticed that whenever you are in a text message and try to click on a name to add the person to contacts; the popup message for "X is not in your contact list..." gets hidden behind the texting window and you are unable to do anything in the texting window because of the popup (nice catch-22, must go to start menu and back in to see dialog)

Has anyone else noticed this?

Different cabs, mind you, that worked on all previous 6.5 builds I've tried including your own.

sounds like a rom problem.

Arcsoft MMS and HTC Comm Manager were the two different programs I got to screw up your ROM consistently. Flashed to an older build and those cabs still work fine.

Edit: Which is a damn shame since this was easily your fastest 218xx build.

Your phone will only use 2 of those .cpr files. One for portrait mode, and one for landscape. The .cpr files used depends on your screen size, and windows automatically chooses the correct ones to use. The others can actually be deleted if you really wanted.

Ok. Do warnings about not being able to run .mscr files on startup mean anything to you?

Edit: I'd like to believe it is the MMS cab that I have for my cricket carrier. (But like I said my HTC Comm Manager cab caused the problem too) the arcsoft mms cab was from a cricket subforum on another board and includes settings to make sure the phone is config'd for cricket MMS. I can see how this would be the problem but as I said, all other builds from all other chefs including you did not have this problem. I can provide the cab for testing purposes if you are even remotely interested?

Currently using the verizon rom from the sprint thread but I find that while it's very fast out of the box after a day or less it starts to bog down. Your roms, whether they started slow or fast, were more consistent in their stability.

WTF?

Edit: Ok, uhm. Tried again. Set up some preferences. Installed a cab or two. This time I installed different cabs and one of them was my arcsoft MMS cab and after install it prompted for restart. I let it and when i restart it was a hard restart and all settings are gone again.

Good luck on next build, tho.
I had an issue like this on a much earlier build. I found something that worked for me and I hope it works for you. If I did a soft reset, it would erase all of my changes and I had to setup again(just as you described). However, if I held down the power button and confirmed to shut off my phone, and then turned it back on, my changes would stay. After installing everything and doing my power down method, I was then able to do soft resets with no problem. For me it was something with the power down.

It reminds me of old Nintendo days where you had to hold down the reset button when you would turned off the Legend of Zelda game to keep your data safe.

Thats unfortunate. I try to give you consistent accurate information regarding a problem with your ROM and even the cabs that could be trouble but instead you don't seem to want to figure out the problem so someone can keep using your great build.

I'll keep working on it and post what I find.

Edit: I tried that power switch method and it didn't really work. I'm not too sure about mortscript but it sounds like a likely culprit. Im going to try a clean Arcsoft MMS cab, and skip the HTC Comm Manager and see what happens.

Just take the 3 files and replace them. If you have problems replacing the files, download Resco Explorer and use that. 30-day trial

http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/downloads.asp

It worked, got rid of the honeycomb and gave back 3 row icons. The font is messed up tho, it's a smaller font than 6.5 and some items text is cut off.

This is a step forward tho...
