Is hacking the registry still required for Sprint Mogul/Titan tethering SERO
Hello,
I searched the Sprint ~ Mogul/Titan 6800 upgrades forum and really couldn't find
any conclusive, although plentiful, answers or instructions/guidelines which
I should follow NOW to fix my issue(s). So here goes and I deeply
apologize if this posting is repulsive or too redundant.
Phone: Sprint HTC Mogul/TItan 6800
ROM: 3.56.651.0 - HTC stock
Radio: 3.42.02
OS: WM 6.1
Sprint Plan: Simply Everything you've got in your wallet - unlimited $99+
Storage card: 4 GB Kingston
Downloaded Apps:
Skyfire
Opera Mini
NFL Mobile Live
Downloaded customizing files:
Ringtones
Wallpapers
I read somewhere earlier that when we upgraded to WM 6.1 that Sprint
changed the setting that allowed tethering so we pay extra even though
we payed for 'unlimited' data and minutes on the deluxe SEP plan.
I also remember the best way to tether was to select a setting, then open
the phone IE browser, and then hook up the laptop via the supplied mini
USB cable.
Question 1) Do we still need to hack the registry to avoid additional over charging?
I don't consider the latter stealing if necessary.
Question 2) What's the best clear post with instructions for that task?
I really appreciate any time and or effort anyone puts into my Moguls issues. And I regret any frustration.
I also notice that in > internet sharing there are two selections,
> USB
> Bluetooth PAN
So do I still need to change registry setting to select Sprint PCS instead of getting Phone As Modem
for better service and no over charging?
Cheers
