Standalone GPS on stock MR1 Verizon Rom and radio

My steps.
Flashed to MR1 from previous stock rom.
Change GPS port setting and location on
Install Vahalla server
install quickgps
install google maps.
install holux gps viewer

Then google maps constantly says seeking satellites. I never find any.I now have holux gps viewer on for around 45 minutes and no satellites are found. Not just no locks but no satelites detected at all.

Ok here is what I really need. I would like my gps to work with navizon. I do not have a data package and I would just like to save my navizon data. I am also going to try and buy gps software since I don't want to pay for data. How do I get the gps to work with these software? From all my reading the verizon gps wiki on XDA should enable the gps for both Holux and Navizon. But neither program finds a satellite.

I understand now that I want standalone gps and not agps. Can standalone even work on the stock verizon radio?

Do you know if I should be able to use standalone GPS on the stock MR1 ROM 3.57.605.1 and radio 3.37.75? Would upgrading to the 3.42.50 radio help me? Can I even upgrade to a newer radio with changing to a different ROM. I don't want a data package so I am trying to get standalone GPS working. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

I am very sorry for being a noob. Please fell free to help me out with any suggestions or to tell me I am a complete idiot and I missed a step or post.

Re: Standalone GPS on stock MR1 Verizon Rom and radio

Sorry, can't do it. The Standalone GPS on Verizon MR1 is locked. The fix is only for aGPS.

Can I ask you this? Why on earth would you use a stock ROM? WORST THING YOU CAN DO ON VERIZON IS USE A STOCK ROM... just my two cents...

Re: Standalone GPS on stock MR1 Verizon Rom and radio

If you do a bit of reading you will see that in order to do GPS on a xv6800 you will have to unlock the device, flash a custom ROM and upgrade to a Sprint radio that will allow GPS as the VZW radio does not to it.

You need to start HERE and read.

Re: Standalone GPS on stock MR1 Verizon Rom and radio

If you want a simple ROM that works mostly like stock after a carrier cab, flash DCD 3.3.4. It's not hard to set up after that.

I'm in the same boat right now because the device I received came from VZW directly and had the MR1 already on it. I was under the impression that no matter what...after MR1 was on the device, no custom rom could free the shackles of the GPS...

I read a thread somewhere where they were able to roll back MR1 I think and get back to the GPS.

Re: Standalone GPS on stock MR1 Verizon Rom and radio

WAH, I am look for that thread. Because I know when I got my first replacment, which was a complete peice of junk it had MR1 and I never could do GPS because the PRI was updated to be locked. I ended up just calling again to get a new one and I got lucky with a top-notch one that still had WM6 and not MR1. I just unlocked, flashed, and did aGPS trick. I was all ready to go.
