I have created a kitchen with the latest Alltel 6.1 Rom broke down and added
some of DCD tweaks, some oems from the other guys and put scotts m2d oem
i will be posting pics and a download link later tonight.

This rom was made made me because I could find one that worked well with alltel.

*Requirements:
+ NueSpl 2.47, olipro 2.40/ I reocmend the first as it is much easier to install.
+ Radio 2.3.3x or higher. What I run is 3.42.50
+ Working and hopefully prior exp in flashing custom ROMS.

MMS 5.0.71.33 is working great.
GPS fixes are extremly fast and accurate. After QSPT and OEM.
Battery Life is unbelievable.

if I just want to use the flashable rom and not the kitchen do I have to put the file on a storage card for flashing?

So the only rom i have ever flashed before was the offical 6.1 alltel upgrade..(not much more difficult than a double click, ha) other than that I have only installed programs and such.

Questions from reading the "Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!" thread....

do I have to go to bootloader mode to install the flashable rom from the 1st post???? The reason I ask is that my phone is in perfect shape except the camera button does not work so I cannot enter bootloader mode.

No, just run it while tethered and it'll load right up. Excellent choice if you don't like what Alltel gave you.

Thanks for the effort, Mathew. After cooking up way too many roms trying to find one that doesn't have issues, I gave yours a try, and so far I'm impressed. Seems you have included almost everything I would like, although I sure miss the personalized OEM information that can be included while cooking up one. Luckily, all the other goodies I like are already on my storage card, and can easily be installed when I get around to it. Once again, wonderful job. Wish I had the time and talent to compile something. Maybe some day. Thanks!

Did you use the kitchen or just the flashable rom.. I just dloaded the flashable rom and I try to unRAR the file and it gives me an error at the last second saying .. "windows cannot find "ROMupdateutility.exe" make sure you have typed the name correctly and try again"

After it's extracted, and you've cleared the error message, navigate to the newly created folder and launch the rom update utility manually. HTH

I built one using the nuerom stuff but since it is only available to donations
i did not release it here. The only thing i did not like was i kept forgetting
to reenable the camera and would lose those once in a lifetime shot.

if you have your user oem just drop it in the oem folder from the kitchen and
build.

Hey Paul.

Metter, I don't know what all those DCD tweaks are, so can't tell if I need them, but since loading up your rom this morning, I've had memory leaking out all over the place. Starts out as advertised, but goes downhill quickly. Maybe flashing w/o the mods will help. I'll give it a try, but the last no2chem rom I ran was doing OK, so maybe I'll just revert. Thanks for the effort anyway. Whatever works for you... and all that. :)

agree with the memory leaks.. just letting idle for 1.5 hours and im at 15mb free. Was having troubles just playing a song.

Additionally, all those today plugins are of no value if you're using Manilla2D. Since this rom was primarily aimed at those wanting Manilla2D, maybe the today plugins could be removed from the rom. Just a thought.

Ok mr. obvious. haha way to live up to your name. i read that too but just wondered if i could get a little more info on it.. im actually on sprint so i had to go through hell to get it working on my vogue. but im thinking of switching my friends alltel titan from scotts rom to this one but only if the picture messaging works the way it did on the old alltel rom..

So you're on Sprint? Well duh this is for Alltel not Sprint. You'll have just as much luck getting MMS to work with one ROM from the next.

haha. i said I was on sprint. with my vogue. i have pic mail working now that sprint released their pic mail program.

im doing this for my friend who has an alltel titan he is running scotts manilla now after seeing my phone with manilla. But i think the problem was that either ill have to switch him to this rom or cook one myself with arcsoft or whatever its called for mms. because it doesnt seem to work to install it as a cab. so my question still stands. did you flash this rom? and if so, did the picture mail work well?

I keep getting "Error building default.hv and user.hv" any help? I have only unchecked Cyberon because I will cab MSVC. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to trying your rom. I am using your kitchen. Could this be caused by adding a few of my OEM's?

well i used the kitchen but im getting I keep getting "Error building default.hv and user.hv" the black screen that tells me what its doing just left my screen and what kind of reset do i need to do to make this 6.1 come on?? sorrry im new at this, no its not locked phone

Does anyone know where i might get a cab for the phone dialer in scotts rom? Its the first phone dialer that i have encountered that works well with my large fingers.

ok so does this have the same sending limit as alltel's 6.1? i think on the stock 6.1 from alltel its like 950K or something in that order.

I thought this ROM was just like DCD 3.3.4 but it's got a lot of extra stuff that I really don't want. Metter do you think you can make a barebones ROM with not even TF2D but just MMS and unlocked EXT ROM and GPS?
