can't get to diagnostic mode on ppc6800

Recenty i am trying to flash my ppc 6800 to cricket. Although for this i need to access the phone through diagnostic mode (##3424#) or directly on the phone running DMrouter.exe. unfortunately non of this methods work on my device.. if i do the##dial# phone will act as a regular call, if i tap on Dmrouter the phone will do nothing... what to do? , does anyone knows?

Re: can't get to diagnostic mode on ppc6800

Although I don't know why you need to be in diagnostic mode to flash, try ##3424 without the trailing #. I had to do that once, although not now. Might be due to the ROM in use.

You could also try adding the ## codes OEM to your next ROM build. Perhaps the dialer you are using doesn't support ## codes.

you can execute dmrouter from your windows directory.... what you are missing is you need to open it using "/DIAG" parameter... use total commander of gsfinder to find the file then hold on it dont tap... you should get a drop down menu then click parameter and enter /DIAG

here's a good reference for you http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...VerizonAGPSFix

Or hold down the center of the D-PAD and hold the clock with your finger and then release. It will give you a run option. Type dmrouter.exe /DIAG and it will work.

Re: can't get to diagnostic mode on ppc6800

Thanks people. What i did was cook a new rom with ppckichen and love the program!! Is it possible to add just certain features without affecting the factory rom? how would i add new features of my own, i'm thinking by adding it into the right folder, but then again you guys are the experts, I think it is possible but just making sure.

Re: can't get to diagnostic mode on ppc6800

if you want the factory ROM, you should probably just add CABs with the material you want

I don't want to sound stupid, but how do you add only cabs?

Re: can't get to diagnostic mode on ppc6800

Ok, we need to establish what a .CAB is first;
CAB files are also often attached to self-extracting programs where executable program extracts attached CAB file. Also CAB files sometimes embedded into other files, for example MSI files are usually contain one or more CAB files embedded. You can easily recognize Microsoft CAB files since all CAB files have specific marker at begin of file, identifying file format. For Microsoft CAB files this marker is a four-letter tag MSCF at start of CAB file.

you install what you want to use directly to the phone without having to flash, or cook a ROM and if you don't like it you can delete the cab and you don't have to re-cook your ROM in order to get rid of what you added. what are you wanting to added and that will help narrow down what you need to do
