Angry Blank Screen(Backlight on, no display, touchscreen works)

I was running No2chem's pre3 ROM and getting graphics artifacts and the same problem with the display, but only in portrait mode. Now, no matter what I do, the display won't show anything. I've tried flashing different roms, but it makes no difference. Does anyone have a solution for me?

Re: Blank Screen(Backlight on, no display, touchscreen works)

try installing my mobiler and see if the display shows up correctly on screen on your pc. It won't help with your phone but it will let you know if it is hardware related on your phone. If the disply does not show up correctly on your pc screen then I doubt its the display chipset on your phone that is bad bc it uses the cpu on the phone to display your screen on the computer. If it does show up corretly then it is more then likely a fried video chip on your phone and should be able to get a replacement for free as it is hardware related.

Steps to getting it fixed. Did you get the phone wet or do anything that would break the display? Thats what they are going to ask you. Have you had the phone for more then one year? as thats the ammount of time that is covered by the factory hardware warrenty from HTC. If both of those are no then flash back to stock and relock it b4 taking it in to get a replacement. You shouldn't have to claim insurance bc of it being a hardware error.

1 more thing does the screen show anything on it when booting or does it always show black even while booting?

Re: Blank Screen(Backlight on, no display, touchscreen works)

The screen is always blank on booting, hard reset menu, and tri-color menu.
And no, I don't think I did anything to cause the issue as it was more of a gradual thing.

Sounds like time to flash back to stock and relock and take it in to get replaced.

Sounds hardware related to me.
