question for JD ROM users?? (long post)
I have two verizon XV6800's. One is my work phone & basically it HAS to work all the time so I keep the other 6800 around as my test bed for new programs, testing ROMs etc etc
I swap/activate ESN's on my account all the time depending on which setup I feel like using at the time.
Since the phone I use daily has been working absolutely perfectly lately running nue3 that has been what I have been using. The main feature I like about nue is being able to disable the camera with the nuekernel feature since I hardly ever use the POS camera anyway.
Last night, I was bored & playing around with flashing different ROM's on the spare phone. I flashed it with JD's latest which is really fast/clean/very impressive etc (if it included nuekernel it's probably what I would use every day). That ROM comes with manilla2D included & it works perfectly right from the get go. I am not a fan of manilla2D at all since it really limits the functionality of the system (never mind what a memory hog it is), but I was playing around with it just for kicks right after the flash.
I've been using Mobile Shell with greatbal's awesome Diamond theme in my nue setup. That setup really rocks as it looks & works basically the same as manilla except it lets you use all your home screen plug-ins/programs etc that don't work with manilla. I got to thinking maybe I could use both setups together & have the best of both worlds.
Since the manilla was already there & working, I just installed MS & the theme & then started trying things. I figured since both Mobile Shell & manilla can be activated/de-activated from the home screen settings I could simply go into the settings & uncheck whichever was active & then check the other one & be good to go.
This actually works super most of the time with one small problem I have been unable to find a solution to. If it is running in Mobile Shell, it works perfectly. The problem is, when it is running in 2D it occasionally jumps into the home screen from mobile shell even though it is not activated. At that point, if I swipe my finger down the screen it jumps right back into 2D.
I have been unable to pinpoint exactly what event causes it to jump into MS. I wish I could, then I could actually use it as a feature to go back & forth between the two apps.
Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can prevent MS popping up without my asking it to???
