Re: Bootloader Nighmare!

kewl.. the nuerom is nice.. fast and very "techy"..just be careful with the pagepool setting / power mode setting. mine actually "self hard resetted" after tinkering with it. but otherwise it is fun.

Re: Bootloader Nighmare!

Ah. After a near break down you have officially saved the day.

Now I just have to figure out how to install the VZW info and get the gps going...

I read that GPS wont work until you have it connected w/ a data plan, so I guess its getting the carrier cab installed first.

Sorry for another newbie question but is there a specific place to get the info to configure it to work w/ VZW?

Re: Bootloader Nighmare!

hmm..not really.. mine is sprint and the rom worked "out of the box" the best bet would be to check out either nuerom.com or maybe this thread:

Did you install a verizon carrier cab??

GPS will certainly work without a data plan. I have a 6800 sitting here that I test software/ROMS etc on & it is not activated as a phone & has never had a data plan.

I can connect it to the internet using wifi & the GPS works just fine in Google maps etc

Re: Bootloader Nighmare!

John. I have not installed any carrier cabs... do I have to?

I just flashed it w/ the nueROM and turned location to "on" in the phone settings.

Is there any way to test to see if the GPS is active? .... when I try to go using google maps it says that the My Location feature is not supported by my handset...?

Mine says that too, but if I then go to the menu & click use GPS & it works fine.
