Volume automatically switching to silent

Whether I have cooked my own ROM or used a Nexvision ROM I get thr volume control randomly switching to silent. I used to think it was HTC Home but it is happening whether or not I have it installed. Is anyone else having this issue and does anyone have a fix...it has made the phone a bit unreliable.

Re: Volume automatically switching to silent

Some programs (like HTC Home's "Automatic" sound profile) will switch the ringer off based on certain conditions like scheduled calendar appointments, GPS location, etc. Do you have any kind of profile manager installed?

I get the same thing. Phone volume mutes, but pda volume is fine. Seems to change randomly.

Using bluetooth devices will do that. It's kinda pesky.

Re: Volume automatically switching to silent

I and others are having the same problem with our Touch. Mine happens mostly when hanging up from calls with BT headset.

What ROMs are you all using and which headsets? I have a Jabra 5010 with sliding arm mic.

I'm hoping that together we can figure this out. It could just be a registry tweak.

Thanks,
Aryeh

Re: Volume automatically switching to silent

I am having the same issue. I am also using SPB Mobile Shell and when I change the profile after the ringer is silent it looks okay but the ringer is still silent. I thought it was SPB but it did it before I reinstalled it after the new ROM. I have to close SPB and got to the today screen and change it. It is a PAIN. it also seems to happen after I take a call and hang up.

Re: Volume automatically switching to silent

Same problem here. It only happens when my bluetooth is turned on and then, only when I hang up from a call. I am running the latest official Sprint ROM 3.56 with Radio 3.42.50 on my Mogul. This is sooooooo frustrating.

Re: Volume automatically switching to silent

I was having the same problem. I decided to play around in my phone settings just for the heck of it. I unchecked the box that says "Notify me when voice privacy is unavailable". It seems to have fixed it for now. I'll see if the problem returns. I only started experiencing it after upgrading to the latest ROM (3.65)

hmmm. I don't remember if I had that checked or not when i was on the ROMS that I had that problem with.

Just so you should know, I have been on DHarvey's Vista ROM for a while and have not had the volume issue so far. I do have the notify option checked. I still think it has to do with the ROMs seeing as all the other 6.1 ROMs i tried gave me that problem.

Good luck!
