XV6800 No longer makes calls after unlock

Tried the unlock on my xv6800. The unlock went well(I think). Tried to upgrade the radio for GPS, received an error(262). Now the phone longer makes calls. I have had this phone almost a week now. Every time you do a hard reset I have had to call vzw for an activation number after no luck with the *228 for activation(this sucks). Will the rom uprade get rid of this mess and what do I do about the phone not calling out now(including *22.
